Car wrecks are one of the leading causes of death among children and teens. Using proper safety restraints—car seats, booster seats, and seat belts—is the best way to keep kids safe. Infants and toddlers should ride in rear‑facing seats in the back seat as long as they can but not front facing before age 2. Children 2-4 need child safety seat with 5 point harness. Children aged 4-9 need a booster seat until they reach 4 feet 9 inches and seat belt fits properly. Children must sit in the back seat until age 13.
