The Wimzy Wizard

The Wimzy Wizard Just a wizard with ink-stained fingers and a head full of old folktales. Come, join me by the fire and have a cup of tea! Fair faring, fellow wanderers!

This is where I share my path-- my art, my spiritual journey, my enchantment, and day-to-day magick. I am the Wimzy Wizard, but you may call me Wimzy if you prefer. I’m a hedgewalker, an artist, and a poet with over 22 years of experience in witchcraft and a lifetime steeped in art and tea. And this page? This is where I put pen to paper, so to speak. Where the brush animates the spirit world, the

pen pulls magick from across the veil, and I document my spiritual studies and ventures through art, poetry, and deep reflection. You’ll find musings of myth and magick here. Spiritual reflections, spellcraft, and the art of wonder. Think of this space as part journal, part spellbook, and part fireside circle where I share my journey with you… and maybe learn a thing or thirty along the way. If you'd like to support the path or wander a little deeper, I share monthly magickal content, book reviews on myth, magick, spirituality, and creativity, and offer printable enchantments and artwork over on Ko-Fi. I invite you to walk the hedge with me, friend. The path is winding, and yes, quite long… but there are plenty of sights to see. And if nothing else, there’s always tea.

Fair faring, dear friends!

I’m in the midst of a gentle rebranding—or maybe more of a reboot. Either way, I wanted to touch base and share what’s coming!

Starting next month, I’ll be reviewing one book a month, both here and on my Ko-Fi. Each book will focus on something spiritual, witchy, creative—or a little of all three—and will inspire the art and poetry I create throughout the month.

June's book is Sigil Witchery by Laura Tempest Zakroff, so naturally, June’s theme is sigils! I’ll be experimenting with her method, sketching lots of rough ideas, refining a few into magical tools, and closing the month with a larger, final piece. Some of that journey will be posted here—but some content will be Ko-Fi exclusive for those who’d like a deeper peek.

If that sounds like your cup of tea, stay tuned—and thank you for being part of this journey. Either way, here's a sneak peak at my personal sigil in progress, and of course the book itself... if you decide you would like to pick up a copy and read along!

With magic and mischief,
Wimzy

Went to Denny's with my Grandmama and decided to sketch my flatware. It's not perfect, but I think it turned out pretty cool anyway 😄

Everyone grows up SOMEWHERE, and Roach Briarwood is no different! Our beloved Himbo Faerie grew up in the quiet town of Silverbough, located in and around the Great Silver Oak just at the edge of the Thronwood Forest. The Root district is where the common folk live, where they farm, herd, hunt, and so on to provide for their peaceful tree village. The Hollow District is situated squarely in the trunk of the tree and is laid out more like apartments and cubicals carved into the inner tree itself, though some of the wealthier middle class can afford small villas that protrude into the outside of the tree with scenic views. This district is generally home to high end merchants like silk and spice traders. And finally, the Branch District, which isn't depicted here, is the home of the wealthy elite, such as nobles, heros, and the Lady of the Tree herself, who serves as the governess elected by the spirit of Silverbough.

Roach, the Himbo Faerie is a sculpture I just finished using oven bake clay (Sculpey)! He took around 30 hours to complete and stands around 6.5 inches from bottom of base to wing tip! I had a lot of fun with this one, and I think he turned out pretty cool! 😄

Here I depict a concept for the Spirit Realm of Hallowdrum, Tyrethvynn. In Hallowdrum lore, Tyrethvynn is a vibrant, lush realm filled with life, color, and lights, however mortals are not generally capable of visiting Tyrethvynn in their physical bodies, with the exception of Elves, and thus may only glimpse this beautiful realm in dreams and deep meditation. As we cannot fathom the intangible, we are unable to fully comprehend the finer details or vibrant colors of Tyrethvynn, our vision being made for the physical realm, and thus we perceive only light and shadow whilst our minds are there. Even Elves who visit the Spirit Realm are only permitted within a small pocket made specially for them, and only pale pinks and dull yellows can be perceived there amongst the shadow and glow.

This piece, titled "A Light in the Dark," depicts a cave goblin investigating an unfamiliar noise, his campfire illuminating the otherwise deep dark of a vast cave network. This piece was done on black construction paper with white charcoal! Honestly I had a lot of fun with this one; negative shading is quite a bit different from the normal approach, and the challenge was quite welcome!
