among my many experiences on the road lately (including: a wind cave tour, bathing in natural hot springs, summiting Angels Landing, watching the moon rise + stargazing in Joshua Tree, pulling Oracle cards at Island In The Sky, watching the sunset among hoodoos in Bryce Canyon, car camping among free-range Buffalo), the meditation + sound bath with under this beautiful canopy in Joshua Tree was the most beautiful + healing + relaxing.
paradise is not a place, it is a state of consciousness that i hope to visit again & again & again through meditation.
meditation has become an important part of my life the past few years and I’m realizing that it should always come first and everything else can wait. ⋒
Lately I’ve been using this lovely little journal by Meera Lee Patel to explore myself + nurture my creativity + discover my existent dreams. ⋒
10/10 would recommend.

Over the past several weeks, I've seen many people in class who are attending a yoga class for the very first time. If you are considering your first yoga class, here are some knowings that will help calm your nerves + encourage.
With a bit of preparation + knowing what to expect, you can quickly find comfort & confidence in your yoga practice. Use this post to gain insight + as an affirmation to attend your first class.

living life in harmony with the lunar ☾ phases has a special significance for women: we are emotionally and perhaps, physically, following the same phases.
as the moon needs to recede, withdraw, and renew each month, so do we.
currently we are in a new moon phase, a time to cleanse our spaces + organize + make lists + set intentions + try new things, + create new healthy habits
Denver, join me tonight for a yoga class honoring the new moon which is designed to help you let go + be ready for change.
Being present is not the absence of action, it is a refocusing of our intention towards mindfulness + warmth.
When we have the courage to drop out of mind & into the present moment, we find wholeness, an experience without an experiencer. We encounter ourselves as presence inseparable from life, rather than a person who is living + directing + managing + controlling this thing called life. in the process, we discover liberation + something as close as I’ve found to the end of suffering.
A few *easy* ways to drop into the present moment:
+ travel off-grid, into nature
+ immerse yourself in water via a bath or a swim sesh
+ take a walk, hike, or a bike ride
+ do something slightly uncomfortable / out of your comfort zone
+ ditch technology / go offline
+ journal - prompts: https://cristalash.com/write-your-heart-out-journaling-ideas/
+ meditate - a self-guided meditation: https://cristalash.com/rose-quartz-meditation/
+ involve an animal - walk a dog, ride a horse, feed an alpaca, watch a bunny
+ do nothing else while you eat or drink
+ clean the house / clear clutter
+ dance it out / have a mini dance party
+ be of service to other people
+ read a book every day / try for 20 pages a day
+ offer yourself a body massage
+ practice yoga
When you have opportunity, I encouraged you to linger in the small joys.

I feel restless, unable to calm my mind, ready for movement, ready to push forward, ready to push past the lull, ready for more action and interaction. If you can relate, drop a ✨ emoji in the comments.

After 15+ years of practicing yoga, Crista decided to take the journey to become a yoga teacher. She attended Danyasa Yoga Arts in the Costa Rican jungle.
An unhealthy body, anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, and recurrent ailments all play an important role in Crista’s never-ending journey towards peace & wellness. She gardens to ensure that she has fresh, organic, non-gmo veggies available to feed her body. She practices yoga & meditation to improve flexibility & posture, for increased energy and vitality, to breathe easier, and to become more mindful. She uses essential oils for immunity support, more restful sleep, to aid digestion, and to encourage positive emotions.
Crista’s current obsessions include holistic wellness, gardening & house plants, yoga, essential oils, cute alpacas, humility, connection, yummy food (cupcakes!), fuzzy slippers, and pj pants. She lives in a vintage hippy house in Denver, Colorado with a mountain view and a lush garden.
Crista currently teaches Vinyasa Yoga classes at Rino Yoga Social. While honoring the wisdom of traditional yoga practices, Crista will empower you to explore the wisdom of your own body, mind, and spirit as you awaken your graceful warrior and claim your purpose in her classes.
When she’s not on the mat, you can find Crista hiking, reading, studying aromatherapy, gardening, and watering her houseplants.
