True confession: I have a love-hate relationship with the word “goals.” If that word motivates you, fantastic; you do you! For me, “goals” can easily turn into external, finger-wagging “shoulds” which are ultimately not helpful. I want to continue the journey of living from the inside out…so getting in touch with what I truly want and need comes first; then identifying small steps to take toward meeting those needs/wants comes next. And for any “changes” to last, self-compassion, -love, and -acceptance must be the foundation. No shaming, no beating myself up. May we all be gentle with ourselves as we end one year and begin another. 💜 And if beginning or resuming counseling/therapy is part of that for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
