Every Sunday this month, we’re posting an outdoor challenge. Today's: find something alive and look at it for 60 seconds.

A tree. A bird moving through clouds. Grass in wind. Anything that exists outside of a screen and has its own rhythm.

Psychologists call this "soft fascination": the effortless, low-demand attention that natural environments produce. Unlike the hard focus required by screens and work, soft fascination allows the prefrontal cortex to rest and restore. It's one of the mechanisms behind why nature reliably reduces mental fatigue. (Kaplan & Kaplan, Attention Restoration Theory)

60 seconds. Something alive. What did you find?

Some days the trail is the last place you want to be - and that’s okay!

It's worth saying out loud, especially in a space that loves the outdoors as much as we do. If the only version of this we show is someone at a summit with good light and clean air, we're leaving out most of the story.

Mental health doesn't pause for good weather. Recovery doesn't care what season it is. And the people doing the quietest, hardest work often are just getting through Tuesday.

If you're in a hard stretch right now, we’re just going to say: we see you, this community is here, and Tuesday eventually becomes Wednesday.

How are we feeling going into the weekend?

Let's talk about anxiety and depression in recovery, because these aren't separate from sobriety. For a lot of people, they're the reason sobriety was hard to reach in the first place. 👇

There’s something different about being on the water before the world fully wakes up.

No pressure to perform. No loud scene. No need to “network.”
Just mountain air, steady movement, and a group of people choosing to spend a Saturday morning differently.

On May 30, we’re gathering at Clear Lake for a sober paddle & floating sound bath intended to help you slow down and reconnect, with yourself and with community.

If you’ve been craving more grounded ways to spend your weekends, this is it! Hit the link below for more event details and to RSVP 💫

Every Sunday this month, we’re posting an outdoor challenge. They’ll be simple and small, but something that will make you feel good.

Today's: at some point, go outside with no destination. Not an errand. No podcasts, no playlist, no plan. Just pick a direction and walk for at least 10 minutes.

Purposeless walking is actually well-studied. When the brain isn't navigating toward a goal, it enters a more relaxed, associative state - the kind linked to creative thinking, emotional processing, and stress recovery. It's one of the reasons people say they "think better" on walks. You're more available to yourself.

Tell us where you ended up! 👇

One of the loneliest parts of early recovery is that the social infrastructure of your old life disappears. The bars. The routines. The people who were around for not the best reasons.

Nature doesn't replace that, but it gives you somewhere to go while you figure out what does.

Social connection is one of the strongest predictors of sustained recovery. Not willpower. Not discipline. *Connection.*

That's why we're here. This community exists because recovery is easier and life is better when you don't do it alone.

Whether you found us recently or have been following for a while, welcome. Tell us what kind of outdoor activities you love. ⬇️
