I went to Walgreens last night and already empty shelves! Honestly, staying healthy from ANY infection or virus, s*xual or social boils down to some basics:
1. Be informed, not influenced
2. Be prepared, not panicked
3. Be responsive, not reactive
4. Be educated, not ignorant
So, while traveling, tearing up the sheets, attending public events... we get exposed to LOTS and LOTS of bacteria and viruses. So here is how I am handling this intimately and with the CoVid19 corona virus.
Intimately it's easy.
1. Be educated - know your STD & STI's and how to prevent or recognize symptoms.
2. Be prepared with the right stuff to prevent and have it HANDY at all times, because you never know!
3. Don't get caught up in the Hollywood moment of passion and bypass #1 and #2 and say ok, not this time... it only takes once.
4. Which is why being educated and living all these things are the most important!
With CoVid-19 here's what I'm doing:
1. I research my own valid sources, not just what I read on Facebook, YouTube, the news etc. I make my own informed choices on literature, studies, valid experts, and my own expertise in health and disease. Many diseases kill more, others have killed faster - but that doesn't mean this one can't do both or is one to ignore.
2. I am paying extra attention to my own health: A) increasing my daily Vitamin C intake (prevents cells from being attacked by pathogens) B) cutting out all sugar (immune system paralyzer) C) eating and drinking my GREENS (antioxidants) and D) my regimen of health practices - hot lemon water, my longevity elixir, Melalueca Vitamins, SLEEP and lots and lots of WATER.
3. I (always) wash my hands A LOT and for 20 seconds. Including between my fingers and wrists while I sing the Happy Birthday song, or a positive mantra.
4. I am prepared... not panicked for any crisis really. I have a Berkey water filter, so I can have clean water. I have an in home air filter (which does require electricity!) I always have extra TP and food... always plenty of food in my house. I have access to cash, matches, flashlights, etc. Extra dog food and yes, even an N95 mask (that was from a friend!)
5. Two years ago I started buying my household products direct from a USA manufacturer I trust, who is a privately owned business uses sustainable USA resources in their manufacturing chain.
6. Other things...
a) Travel is TBD
b) Watching the 6 feet distance for airborne particle travel
c) Not touching my face
d) Sanitizers in car, purse for when I can't wash my hands
What I'm NOT doing... panicking and stock piling. Avoiding Chinese restaurants or people. Going out in public unaware. Getting a flu vaccine (never for me -when I do I get sick.) Eating, drinking, or living like crap taking advantage of my good health. Not eating SUGAR, GLUTEN, SOY, DAIRY... and things that compromise my immune system. Not keeping my house, counters, floors, hands a little extra clean. Or staying unaware, inattentive, or unprepared.
SO really, it's not changing my life other than being more CONSCIOUS, HEALTHY and INTENTIONAL with my habits, health, lifestyle, environment, nutrition and my social choices!
A little up-level in all this doesn't hurt me at all...
