I am queer, bigender and bisexual, pronouns are they/them or she/her. Over 25 years ago, while I was still in grade school, I discovered yoga meditation. My self-taught (from books) practice carried me through a troubled youth, and I feel I owe my life and everything good in it to yoga and the power of meditation. I am a csa and child abuse survivor, I have Complex-PTSD, and I am neurodivergent. M
y parent were teenagers when I was born, and both struggled greatly with drug abuse. I spent most of my youth in and out of various jails and institutions, and have lived in deep poverty my whole life. Even through dark dungeons, I always had my yoga practice to rely on. I have used meditation and gentle yoga to rise from a destiny of violence and incarceration into a person I am proud to see in the mirror. I believe very strongly in the deep and unconditional love of Self which comes only from inner work within the dark chambers of our hearts. I'm not here to sell miracles or buzzwords. I will use the plainest language I can to explain with honesty the things I have learned over many thousands of hours of study over the last quarter century. I have a very deep and burning passion for yoga. I have studied and continue to study the yoga sutras, and I practice with an Anti-racist philosophy which says that nothing I am teaching has been appropriated violently from Asian culture (to the best of my knowledge), and that I am open and willing to change my practice with new knowledge. This is not an exercise regimen to me, it is my religion. It guides my spirit and has brought me every day closer to a Higher Power, and fills my heart with inner peace for myself and outer fury for the injustice of this world. If you have been considering booking private lessons with me, in which I will work closely with you to build a totally tailored and unique practice, attending a live class would be a great way to see me in action and decide for yourself if my wisdom can help you
I offer very reasonable rates for private one-on-one or small group classes, with rates as low as $15 per person for an hour-ish class
I practice yoga for all bodies, all abilities, all needs. My public classes are offered free of charge, with donations and tips gladly accepted from those who are able to do so comfortably. My yoga practice is mutual aid driven and anti-capitalist. My practice is pro-disabled, accessibility-focused, pro-fat, queer-focused, leftist, trauma informed, and not one mention of "positive vibes" will be uttered - my practice respects ALL vibrations, ALL emotions. This is a real, honest practice focused on the root Chakra and grounding. And if you are honest with yourself while we practice together, and honor your body where it is, I promise you that you will find a higher quality of life within yourself
