Peace, Love and Rescue

Peace, Love and Rescue A story about working together toward rescue Lucas and Max are two of the many dogs who end up on Georgia's doggie death row.

As strays, they found their way to Dekalb Animal Control with little chance of being adopted. Lucas sat there for a year and was ignored by potential adopters. As a one year young pup, Max came to Dekalb County Animal Control with a clear deformity (webbed feet) and a possibly degenerative condition so he was at the top of the list for euthanasia. Thanks to the good folks at Friends of Dekalb Animals (FODA), Maxfund No-Kill Shelter in Colorado and Pet Airways and everyone who donated, Lucas and Max made their way to safety! We are so happy to report that Lucas has been adopted and is now living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is the star of many at home Skype conversations, is enjoying exploring the outdoors with his mom and will be continuing his training. Max (Baxter) was adopted by his foster mom and now lives in Boulder, Colorado. Max is receiving water therapy and other PT for his condition and charms everyone who crosses his path.
