We often hear about the "benefits" of social media, but Dr. Claudia Black delivers a stark warning: for young people, the harm far outweighs the benefits.
She reveals the urgent impact of screens:
- Addictive Quality: It's built for instant gratification.
- Social Isolation: It's actively impairing their ability for normal socialization.
- Toxic Inadequacy: It's a relentless setup for feelings of inadequacy and constant comparison, gravely exaggerating issues like body image struggles—now seen more in men than ever before.

I am an integrative medicine physician who works with people who want to improve their health and well-being and be free from food obsessions and body dissatisfaction. I have an online coaching program, The Anchor Program (TM) for people with food and body image issues. The Anchor Program is so named because being anchored is about being true to yourself and accessing your inner strength. No matter where you are in your personal journey, I will meet you and walk with you every step of the way.
What I believe:
I support an individual’s right to good health, no matter what their size.
I believe that we can best touch and help others through sharing our thoughts, our stories and our innermost desires.
I believe that, while many of us have had difficult lives or difficult experiences, these experiences can open our hearts and minds to the possibility of true self-acceptance and personal growth.
While change is not easy, I believe that it is much easier when you have support along the way. Learning to ask for help may be the hardest part of the process (at least it was for me).
I believe that you should never give up on the people and things that are most important to you. I know that dreams do come true and often in the most unexpected ways. Sometimes the thing you think is the worst think for you, ends up taking you on a journey of self-discovery that can change you forever.
I believe that all any of us can do is to take the first step towards what we desire, towards what our souls are yearning for. We all deserve to live the lives we desire.
