Did you see the news about the Neutrogena makeup wipes recall? 😬
Turns out, some batches tested positive for bacteria — yikes!

Kind of ironic, right? We use wipes to clean our faces, not add extra germs to the mix.

I’ll admit, those blue packs used to be my go-to. They were convenient, inexpensive, and easy to find. But once I started digging into what was actually in them… that was the end of our relationship. 👋

Now, I just wash my face the old fashioned way - soap (Crunchi gentle cleansing bar) and water. I found that using wipes didn’t make me feel nearly as clean and it was harsh on my skin with the wiping no matter how gentle I was.

But for those that love the wipes, there IS an option. I love these and got them for my teen, too.

You can use these to dry your face after cleansing, pair with an oil or balm, and pair with a cleanser for gentle exfoliation. They are disposable but reusable - Just rinse and hang to dry!

As a flight attendant, I’m surrounded by things that can wreck your health - jet fuel, recycled cabin air, ill passengers. I hear my fellow flight attendants + friends complain about how expensive it is to go ‘clean’, not realizing that you pay for it in one way or another. In my line of work, service is about lifting others up (literally 😜) & that starts with taking care of ourselves.

When a fellow flight attendant said, ‘I’d only switch my makeup if it was free,’ I understood because it seems like everyone is budgetiny these days. Changing brands or the higher price tag may feel uncomfortable or maybe switching to ‘clean’ sounds a little extreme.

We use skincare and/or makeup everyday & it goes on our largest organ (our skin) absorbing into our liver, kidneys, lungs & other important body filtration systems.

🗣 Has anyone here heard of “Peptides”?

They're amazing, and they definitely deserve to be in your skincare if you are wanting to battle aging.

🤷🏽‍♀️ What are peptides?

They’re an ingredient used in some anti-aging skincare and cosmetics.

🤷🏻‍♀️ What are they made of?

Peptides are amino acids that are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin, like collagen and elastin.

🤷🏼‍♀️ How do they work?

They have the ability to pe*****te deep into the skin, instead of just sitting on top of the skin. They can then send signals to your cells to produce more collagen and elastin.

🤷🏾‍♀️ What are they good for?

Using a product that contains peptides can lead to firmer, younger-looking skin, reducing inflammation, strengthening the skins barrier, improving collagen production, and maybe even fewer breakouts.

🤷‍♀️I wanted to share something really quick. I'm laying in bed trying to get sleepy after flying all day + needing to get up early but wanted to share a pic I just now snapped of my skin. It's significant because there was a time when I wouldn't have posted a selfie without makeup. I used to avoid mirrors and cringe at how my skin was betraying me. I hated photos, covered up with makeup and kept it on as long as possible even at home and that only made things worse. I suffered with this for almost 9 years.

Acne isn’t ‘just acne’. It’s the way it messes with your confidence, how it changes the way you feel in public and how hopeless it makes you feel.

💁🏼‍♀️Body burden is the total amount of chemicals and pollutants that are present in your body at any given time. These chemicals come from the air we breathe, the food & drinks we consume and the products we apply to our bodies.

📈As we continually use toxic products, the levels of toxins within us become too burdensome for our body to be able to detoxify correctly. When this happens, we are finally able to see the impact of these toxins on our health. Every person is different and their ability to detox adequately is also dependent on other lifestyle factors.

🆘In the “Fourth National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals,” the CDC reported that the average person in the United States has at least 212 chemicals in their blood and urine. Environmental Working Group (EWG) detected 16 chemicals from 4 chemical families - phthalates, triclosan, parabens, and musks - in blood and urine samples from 20 teen girls aged 14-19. Studies link these chemicals to potential health effects including cancer and hormone disruption. If you’ve been in here for awhile, you know just how common these toxins are in beauty and personal care products!

📌 These tests feature first-ever exposure data for parabens in teens and indicate that young women are widely exposed to this common class of cosmetic preservatives, with twi parabens, methylparaben and propylparaben, detected in every single girl tested.**

💄Cosmetics and other personal care products are an alarming example of government and industry failures to protect public health. Federal health statutes do not require companies to test products or ingredients for safety before they are sold.
