Established in 1850, IMS is a statewide professional association representing more than 6,000 Iowa physicians, residents, and medical students. We work to advance the practice of medicine through advocacy, education, and engagement with physicians throughout Iowa to ensure the highest quality of care for the patients they serve.

The Iowa Medical Society recognizes the hard work and dedication of residents and fellows across the state, including our Resident Director, Dr. Adetayo Oladele- Ajose, MD. Dr. Oladele-Ajose attended Physician Day on the Hill with her fellow residents and colleagues from the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences last week.

Marta J. Van Beek, MD, a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) Board of Trustees, joined Iowa Medical Society leaders at the AMA National Advocacy Conference this week to advocate for policies that protect patients, strengthen physician practices, and reduce administrative burdens.
