Great news – Iowa has gained one more Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award recipient, bringing Iowa’s total this year to 46!

University Park Nursing successfully appealed the initial qualification decision and has been notified that they have achieved Bronze Quality Award status. We love seeing our list of award recipients grow!

🌟 Last week, we had the pleasure of getting out and about in our community! 🌟

Our team made special visits to local hospitals to show some love and appreciation to the amazing nurses and social workers who work so hard every day. 💙 We brought along some of our favorite treats to brighten their day and say thank you for all they do!

Supporting each other across the healthcare continuum is what it’s all about — and we’re grateful for these partnerships that help us provide the very best care. 💐🍪

Teamwork in Action!

A huge THANK YOU to the Northwest Yeti Baseball Team and the amazing families of our department heads for showing up today and helping us clean up the facility grounds!

Together, we:
• Removed old mulch
• Added 21 tons of decorative rock to the front and side of the building
• Trimmed overgrown bushes and trees
• Pulled weeds
• Cleared and moved a large amount of brush

It was a hot and busy day, but your time, energy, and positive attitudes made a huge difference. Our residents will love the refreshed and beautiful outdoor space!

We are so grateful for the teamwork and support—this truly shows what community is all about.

🐣🐥 Exciting News from Our Nest! 🐥🐣

Over the past few weeks, our residents and staff have been filled with anticipation as we waited for something egg-stra special… baby chicks! 🐤💛

We watched closely every day, checking the incubator and sharing stories about farm life and baby animals. The joy and excitement grew with each little peep and wiggle. And when hatch day finally came — what a magical moment! 🌟

Now that our chicks are here, we’ve been enjoying every second of cuddling, loving on them, and soaking in their sweet little chirps. It’s been a wonderful experience that brought smiles, memories, and connection to everyone in our community.

There’s nothing quite like new life to remind us of the simple joys. 💕

That’s a wrap on Nursing Home Week 2025! We closed out the celebration in style with Band Shirt Day—and the residents got to vote on their favorite! Metallica took the win, and a big congrats to Angie Blades, our amazing ABOM, for rocking the top shirt!

We had a blast singing our hearts out during karaoke, and everyone enjoyed delicious microphone cupcakes to end the week on a sweet note.

Yesterday, we celebrated Nursing Home Week with a fun and festive twist—by honoring our favorite holidays!

Our team and residents came together to enjoy a delicious potluck filled with everyone’s favorite holiday dishes—from Thanksgiving classics to Christmas cookies and everything in between.

Even more special were the stories and memories we shared—favorite traditions from the past, cherished moments in the present, and even dreams for future holidays.

And a big shoutout to our scheduler/front desk superstar, Theresa, who stole the show and won Best Dressed with her festive flair!

It was a heartwarming reminder that no matter the season, the spirit of togetherness is what truly makes every day feel like a holiday!

We had the pleasure of spending time at the hospitals today in honor of Hospital Week! It was a great opportunity to connect with the incredible social workers and nursing staff who go above and beyond every day.

Thank you for all you do—for your patients, for our residents, and for the referrals you send our way. Your dedication and compassion do not go unnoticed!

Flashback to the Hippie Era!
We took a groovy trip back in time with a far-out fondue feast and a funky disco party! Bell bottoms, tie-dye, and platform shoes were everywhere as everyone got into the spirit of the ’60s and ’70s.
Our residents had a blast voting for the Best Dancer and Best Dressed—and the winner was none other than our own shining star, Kei Yana Lewis, CNA!

We’re floating through the years this Nursing Home Week—literally! Today we brought the summer vibes with floaties, beachwear, and plenty of root beer floats to go around. We shared laughs, memories from the past, hopes for the future, and soaked up every moment of fun and connection.

A big shoutout to our nurse Mallory for winning the dress-up contest—she really made a splash!

We’re loving every second of Nursing Home Week and celebrating the amazing people who make this place feel like home. Stay tuned for more smiles and good times!
