I just want to share something that’s on my heart..
In moments like these, I return to what Scripture teaches—not only about discernment, but about how we respond when accused, misunderstood, or pressured to act out of fear or offense.
Recently, I was asked to remove a post about my personal experience at Life Surge. The concern expressed was that it promoted a doctrine of seeking wealth, and the individual even reposted it to their own page with warnings and accusations. I want to address this publicly—not to defend myself, but to honor Christ, remain accountable, and share where Grace For Addictions stands.
📖 Discernment matters.
We are absolutely called to test everything and cling to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21), to examine fruit (Matthew 7:15–16), and not to store up treasures on earth (Matthew 6:19–21). At the same time, we are cautioned not to judge by appearances alone, but to judge with right judgment (John 7:24).
📖 So does humility.
We’re reminded in Matthew 7:1–5 that before we call out the speck in someone else’s eye, we should examine the plank in our own. Accusations without relationship, context, or conversation can sow division, not discernment.
📖 And love must lead.
Love “believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7). When someone is sincerely sharing how God stirred their heart, let’s be slow to speak, quick to listen, and willing to weigh it with humility rather than suspicion (James 1:19).
At Grace For Addictions, we stand on the Gospel of Jesus Christ—salvation by grace through faith, not works, not wealth, and not performance. We proclaim a message of hope, transformation, and redemption for the lost, the hurting, and the recovering.
The post in question remains, not because we idolize influence or wealth, but because we won’t be silenced from sharing how God moves—even if it doesn’t fit someone else’s box. We trust God to expose what’s false, exalt what’s true, and use all things for His glory (Genesis 50:20, Romans 8:28).
Let’s continue to walk in love, truth, and wisdom—not tearing one another down, but building each other up as we all pursue the high calling of Christ.
