Thank you Des Moines Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol for helping us spread awareness on just how hot a vehicle temp can get! Never leave a child alone in a vehicle, not even for a minute!

The State Fair asked if we'd post something on our social media and we said we'd be happy to help out, reminding everyone about the importance of staying hydrated with water, and some of the other need to know things about staying cool in the fairgrounds.

Over the next few days it's going to be very hot, so make sure you're drinking plenty of water, water fill stations will be posted throughout the grounds, and know that coolers and drinks are now allowed to be carried in. The next few days are gonna be hot and we want to spread as much word as possible!

What an amazing event we had in Perry today! Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success. Look at all these old, unsafe gas cans that were properly disposed of! Every participant left with safety information and new metal safety can!

It's the return of ! This summer, 14 children in the US have died from being in a hot car - whether they were left in the vehicle or gained access to a vehicle and became trapped. It only takes a matter of minutes for a car to heat up to a deadly temperature. NEVER leave a child in a vehicle and ALWAYS keep your doors locked to prevent a child from getting into a vehicle.

Let's chat about safe gun storage for this week's ! According to Everytown for Gun Safety, in 2025, there have already been at least 16 unintentional shootings by children, resulting in 8 deaths and 8 injuries nationally.

These incidents are PREVENTABLE. Fi****ms should be stored unloaded and secured with effective, child-resistant gun locks in a container out of the reach and sight of children.
