Alright so I finished and definitely earned this belt buckle! The race conditions were toughest to date and I had two moments where I had to weigh personal health risks versus continuing. I'll make a few summary posts of the experience later this week but here's the wrap-up: Out of 191 participants, 127 finished, making the DNF rate 33%. Out of 127 finishers, I was 60th, averaging about 59 miles per day. I was hoping to be in the middle of the finishers so mission accomplished. I never take finishing for granted though.

Moab 240 2020: And finally the disclaimer. I entered the race off the waitlist only about 6 weeks ago. I had already been training but not at the level or seriousness that is proper for a 240 mile race. I entered because 2020, as you know, has really sucked. Entering the race has uplifted my spirits greatly and got me back doing one of the things I love most, trail running. The last 6 weeks of training has been awesome and an adventure in its own right, and now I get to enjoy more of the same on an epic level. I expect the race to be hard with some chance that I won't finish, but I am and will have a level of fun that makes life way worth living! Okay, let's see what I can do...
