A legacy on the lake.

A huge thank you to the team from Let’s Go Fishing for presenting at our meeting yesterday! It was wonderful to hear the story of how the late Paul Sukke’s vision turned into a program that has brought so many smiles to our seniors and veterans over the last 17 years.

Thank you for the countless hours your volunteers spend ensuring that everyone in Detroit Lakes has the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful lakes.

TODAY!!!!
Detroit Lakes, MN - Let's Go Fishing... bringing smiles to the water!

We are thrilled to welcome the Detroit Lakes Area Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing to our meeting this week! Since its maiden voyage on Little Detroit Lake in 2008, this incredible organization has been dedicated to getting our seniors, veterans, youth, and physically challenged neighbors out on the water.

Come hear about the history of the "LGF SS Sukke" and how this volunteer-led chapter continues to give the gift of the lake to so many in our community.

We're proud to donate $1,000 to support the Tribute to Fallen Heroes project coming to Detroit Lakes this 4th of July weekend.

Sarah Hudson is helping bring the GoldStars Tribute To America’s Fallen Foundation & GoldStars Tribute Wall to our community. A powerful tribute honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We are honored to support this meaningful project.

A team effort for Detroit Lakes.

Thank you to all our members who attended yesterday's club meeting! It was a productive hour spent discussing our plans for the next few months and discussing how we can best serve our neighbors as we head into the summer season.

We are energized and ready to get to work on our upcoming projects. To our guests who joined us, thank you for your interest and for seeing firsthand how we turn ideas into action.

The future of our service in Detroit Lakes is bright!

We’re excited to continue supporting the Detroit Lakes Youth Soccer Association (DLYSA)!

Our Rotary Club was proud to present a $500 donation to help fund t-shirts for the kids this season. It’s always rewarding to invest in opportunities that bring our community’s youth together through teamwork, fun, and sportsmanship.

Pictured here celebrating the moment are our own Pam Genereux, DLYSA Board Member Sam Rufer, and Rotarian Gary Krogsgaard.

We can’t wait to see all the young athletes out on the field. Go DLYSA!

The Rotary International message for this year is "Unite for Good."

It's a great reminder that even though we all come from different professions and backgrounds, we're at our best when we work together for a common purpose.

Here in DL, that's supporting the youth, maintaining parks, and helping local initiatives thrive. We are a community of givers who believe that we can accomplish so much more together than we ever could alone.

Strengthening our roots.

This Thursday, we are taking a "club day" to focus on our upcoming service projects and local initiatives. While we love our guest speakers, these meetings are some of our favorites because they are where the real work of Rotary happens.

We will be discussing our plans for the spring and summer, including Octoberfest DL, our continued partnership with the local soccer complex, and our upcoming community service goals. If you have ever wanted to see the engine of Rotary and how we decide where to put our efforts, this is the perfect week to join us as a guest.

Join us at the Detroit Lakes VFW this Thursday, April 30 at Noon and lunch is on us!

Building stronger bridges.

A big thank you to Teri for joining us at our meeting yesterday to present on Engage. Her passion for community involvement is contagious and fits perfectly with our mission of Service Above Self.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your vision for community connection with us, Teri! It was a great reminder of how much we can accomplish when we work together to keep Detroit Lakes thriving.

If you or someone you know is 50+ and wants information about a program that is designed to provide events and activities of all kinds for people of all kinds, check out DLCC.org/Engage and just show up! Teri loves meeting new friends!
