🌟🤰🏾 Birth Story Alert 👩🏾🍼🌟
Last week, I had the honor of being part of Tasha's birthing experience on Labor Day until early Wednesday morning. It all began with an unexpected but necessary induction. With unwavering courage 💪🏾, determination 🏋🏾♀️, and support 🤝🏾, my client, her partner, her mother, and I embarked on an incredible ride together.
I worked seamlessly with the medical staff, ensuring her comfort and that the hospital adhered to her birth plan that her OBGYN preapproved. I called the nurses 511 times throughout all the shift changes to attend to us. With me there, the nurses got all their steps in for the day cause we weren't playing about Tasha's hospital room being the priority. 📞💬 👏🏾🏃♀️🏃♀️
When I rolled in at 9:30 PM, I set up the ambiance for the room with LED candles, music, and aromatherapy. 🕯️🎶🌿🧘🏾♀️ Then, her partner Davon and I maintained vigilant support for over 30 hours. Position changes before and after epidural placement, cold compresses, ice chips, and affirmations became our sacred rituals. 💆🏾♀️Of course, we faced challenges, but Tasha's determination prevailed.
We worked tirelessly from when she hired me during her fourth month of pregnancy. I stayed on her neck so she could manifest her birthing goals by focusing on overall wellness and increasing her discipline. The result? A beautiful birth, no episiotomy, no tearing—just pure triumph. 🌟🌟🌟 🙌🏾 🙌🏾
Tasha, your journey is an inspiration. God bless you and the new addition to your family! I'm grateful to have been part of it.
And from her review of my services, I will support this family for a while during the rest of her childbearing years:
"This was my first time having a doula and it made a BIG difference from my first experience. Vashti provided me with resources, education and helped me through my whole pregnancy. During labor she kept me focused and calm. She made sure I received the birth I wanted in the safest way. Vashti will definitely be my doula for my next pregnancy and the pregnancy after that!"
