I believe every person has a right to the most beautiful and meaningful birthing experience they desire; whatever that means to them.
Upon completing training as a birth doula, I began to view my birth experiences through a different lens. As I started talking to my friends and other mothers, I realized two things:
1) Advocacy for black mothers and mothers of color is severely lacking in maternal healthcare.
2) There is a deep need for doula services in underserved communities.
That is why I became a doula.
My goal is to give every birthing person an informed and confident voice during childbirth.
