The CDC recently released this: Mental health issues like depression have been added to those at risk for more serious COVID-19 cases.
Happy Pride Month to all!
I am in a SAR this weekend! For anyone who doesn't know: SAR stands for S*xual Attitude Reassessment. I signed up for this months ago, not realizing that this would be a weekend without air-conditioning and one that had contractors in and out trying to finish up projects. It's okay though, it mostly worked out and I love being with "my people" (other s*x nerds!) So here's to two more 11am-5:30 pm days of talking about s*x, intersectionality, and the ever-changing landscape of how we respond to challenges both personally and professionally! And I am so wearing this t-shirt tomorrow!
I'm quoted in this article! I enjoy working with individuals and partners in polyamorous or open relationships because it's always interesting and because they are an underserved and very misunderstood population. I hear stories from my clients of feeling judged and told in the past that being "open" was the root of all their problems! Not so!! I offer s*x therapy and hold the judgment!
I'm quoted in this article! My stance: Friends with benefits isn't necessarily a bad arrangement! Check it out! Do you agree or disagree?

This!

By Kurt Vonnegut:

“When I was 15, I spent a month working on an archeological dig. I was talking to one of the archeologists one day during our lunch break and he asked those kinds of “getting to know you” questions you ask young people: Do you play sports? What’s your favorite subject? And I told him, no I don’t play any sports. I do theater, I’m in choir, I play the violin and piano, I used to take art classes.

And he went WOW. That’s amazing! And I said, “Oh no, but I’m not any good at ANY of them.”

And he said something then that I will never forget and which absolutely blew my mind because no one had ever said anything like it to me before: “I don’t think being good at things is the point of doing them. I think you’ve got all these wonderful experiences with different skills, and that all teaches you things and makes you an interesting person, no matter how well you do them.”

And that honestly changed my life. Because I went from a failure, someone who hadn’t been talented enough at anything to excel, to someone who did things because I enjoyed them. I had been raised in such an achievement-oriented environment, so inundated with the myth of Talent, that I thought it was only worth doing things if you could “Win” at them.”

A good article on s*x therapy:

Is It Time to See a S*x Therapist? S*x can be an important part of personal well-being. But s*x therapists say the work they do remains misunderstood.
