Simple - Drop in your mouth. Swallow.
Pure - Made with organic ingredients, medical grade cannabis, and a natural process
Hey there, this is Peter, founder of Howl’s. I’m a patient and I’ve been making medicinal cannabis tincture for other patients since 2012. I do it because I know what it feels like to be a patient. What to use? What will it do? Where to begin? Will it help?
As a director of concerts for rock bands, I rely on my wits to create and produce large productions. As a parent, I need to be responsible when with my kid. When my doctor recommended I use medical cannabis, I was concerned that it would be overwhelming and cloud my mind, putting my job and my family at risk.
A friend suggested tincture as a way to control the dosage while getting the relief I needed. When I couldn't find it at a dispensary, I started making it for myself using a gentle, 5000 year old method that I’d used making other infused oils. The results were effective for me and I got back to work and life much happier.
As a member of a patient coop, others saw the benefits I was getting. They asked if I could give them some. I made a label with clear instructions and ingredients, got it lab tested to ensure safety and consistency, and shared it with them simply to give back to the coop and help out a few folks.
Again, I got back to work and life. Then, the stories came back--
A mother could play with her kids again.
A severely debilitated woman with regular seizures could sleep through the night.
An artist could draw again without pain and asthma.
Then, word of the tincture reached the Summit Compassion Center who made it accessible to all Rhode Island patients in 2015. Now, thousands of patients in Rhode Island have used Howl’s Tincture to relieve their conditions or symptoms.
Life and work are now changing for me and Howl’s. We’ve recently expanded to Massachusetts in partnership with BASK Compassion Center to make the tincture available to all patients in Massachusetts.
We’ve hired patients and taught them to make the tincture so we can keep up with demand in both states and develop new products with patients in mind.
We collaborate with scientists, herbalists, and traditional healers to educate ourselves and others in order to make the most useful medicines available.
We work joyously every day to make the tincture and more with the same values as the first bottle I made for myself - simple, consistent, and pure.
The Howl's page is how we continue this work by providing information on cannabis and plant medicines, share patient stories, explore history and cultural issues surrounding cannabis, and keep everyone informed about Howl’s Medicines.
