Hello! I wanted to introduce myself for all of those who may not know me! My name is Carol and I'm the Owner and Operator behind Top Peak Medical Billing. I started my healthcare career back in 2012, starting out as a medical records clerk for a Fraud, Waste and Abuse detection healthcare company. There, I worked my way up the ladder to become a Complaint Analyst. After that company was bought out and many employees were let go, I decided to change my career path and become a Medical Coder. After completing school, I was hired on by a Pain Management company where I scribed notes for the physicians. At that job, I yearned for something else, a different path, something to put my education to work. I was then hired on by an Orthopedic office starting out as their Medical biller and I really enjoyed it! Once I knew the Medical billing basics, the stars seemed to align and a Medical Coding position opened up and I was promoted! I loved every minute of coding Orthopedic procedures and surgeries. In this past year, I have even dabbled in Medical Coding OBGYN/Women's health services. Then we come here, to where I am now, owning my own business. I love jumping head first into new creative ideas, I love multitasking, I love being busy! I love the investigative work in each patient's chart to determine if all the information is there to make sure the chart note/surgery notes make sense and that the claim can be billed correctly.
