This was a fun find!
We don't have much history about our farm, as it was sold out of the original family several years ago.
We have been able to find old aerial photos of it from the late 50s.
We have always wondered if it had a bank barn at some point, as none of the aerial photos have shown one. However, we guess it was about where our barn sits today.
Off to the side of our barn, the ground comes in level from the field, then drops sharply. It is also full of stones and now two trees that have grown up. Many of the stones are very square, like you would see in a foundation of a bank barn. Of course, the goats love to climb on the stones, but I noticed some rusty metal sticking out of one of their paths. We pulled it out to find these treasures!
If only the ground we walk on could speak. The history held within the soil is amazing. Take care of your land.
