Sickle cell disease causes red blood cells to form a “C” or sickle shape, making it harder for them to carry oxygen and flow through the body.

This can lead to serious health challenges — but with early diagnosis, proper care and community support, people with sickle cell disease can live longer, healthier lives.

This National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we encourage you to learn more, share resources and help raise awareness in your community.

Molina Healthcare of Florida, in collaboration with the Hispanic Coalition, proudly hosted the Información es Vida event to help families prepare for hurricane season.

More than 50 attendees gained life-saving storm safety tips from experts, including a Univision meteorologist, the American Red Cross, local officials, and emergency management teams. Thanks to our amazing MolinaCares volunteers, guests also received hurricane prep supplies and community resource guides and enjoyed a buffet lunch.

Together, we’re empowering families with the tools and knowledge to stay safe and resilient.

Finding the right position can make a big difference in comfort and latch. Here are three popular holds to try:
✅ Cradle hold – Classic and comfortable, with baby’s head resting in your arm.
✅ Football hold – Tuck baby under your arm for extra support and visibility.
✅ Side-Lying hold – Relax and feed while lying on your side — perfect for nighttime or recovery.

Every parent and baby is unique. Explore what works best for you!

This week, we honor the crucial role community health centers have played for 60 years. They deliver accessible, high-quality care to over 32 million Americans, strengthening the health of communities large and small.

At Molina Healthcare, we’re proud to join in this year’s theme: “America’s Health Centers: Celebrating Past, Present, and Future.” We applaud the legacy of these centers and their ongoing work to ensure individuals and families have access to trusted, patient-centered care—now and for generations to come.

Thank you to all the providers, staff and advocates driving better health outcomes in the communities they serve every day.

We were honored to attend the Florida Assisted Living Association 2025 Conference, where this year’s inspiring theme, “The Ripple Effect,” reminded us how small actions can create lasting impact.

As proud sponsors, our team suited up as “lifeguards,” supporting the incredible vendors and frontline providers who make waves in the lives of those they serve every day.

From the insightful Chapter Leader Meeting to powerful conversations throughout the event, we walked away energized and even more committed to strengthening care across Florida.

Thank you to the Florida Assisted Living Association and all who make this work possible!

🚨 Never leave a child in a parked car — not even for a minute.

Temperatures inside a car can rise dangerously fast, even on mild days. A child’s body heats up 3–5 times faster than an adult’s.

Here are simple ways to help prevent a tragedy:
✔ Always check the back seat before locking your car.
✔ Keep a stuffed animal in the car seat — move it to the front seat to remind you.
✔ Place your phone, purse or work badge next to the car seat.
✔ Set a reminder on your phone if you have a change in routine.

If you ever spot a child left alone in a vehicle, don’t hesitate — call 911 right away.
