There's something about being with you, even like this, feeling the big feels- or not feeling at all, that allows my stress to lower, allows me to rest, access deeper truths about what needs to happen next. And so the invitation is to just come be with as you are and see if that's true for you too.
May we continue to fight, dream, and care from this place- connected in a different way.

We don't have to have a name for what it is, that feeling that's grown, unavoidable, large, here we make room for it too as it shifts and tries to speak we hold space and listen, together.
An invitation to be with whatever comes with those of us who know these feels well. We'll share what we know and tools for now and later on this journey.

💩 happens. Being well doesn't mean life is all of a sudden 💩less~ it means there's space between you and the 💩 that happens. space to witness. space to respond. space to speak. space to move. space to gather. space to soothe. space to allow help. space to choose.
May we all get the chance to become our most well selves. Together.

It's tempting, and certainly encouraged, for us to pay no mind to what we've lost. Toxic positivity certainly doesn't find value in actually seeing and feeling what there is to see and feel. Beloved, I know when we are in this place it seems like it will only hurt and slow us down to acknowledge what's happening, but there is a balm in experiencing and releasing pain that is present, at least that's been my experience and the experience of those I've guided to the other side. Ignoring it only always it to build and it WILL find it's own way out if a way is not made.

It can often feel counterintuitive~ to be with your feelings and thoughts~ as it can be hard to remember that you are more than your thoughts and feelings. Especially within an over-culture that promotes denial of feeling altogether and harshly judges thoughts as truth and signals of identity. Especially when those thoughts and/ or feelings are strong and our circumstances leave us primed for overwhelm.
To start the practice of being with try focusing on using one of your senses, for this example I'll use sound but you can use any of your senses to be with something happening internally or externally within the space you're in. Focus on singling out a sound wherever you are, see if you can hear that sound come and go. Does it have a beginning, middle and end? Without judging yourself for for well you focus, or how well you can single one sound out, practice being with what you focus on, use another sound or the same sound if it's known to repeat and see how much of yourself you can listen with. Over time the practice of being with helps you better understand and built the gift of your presence with both yourself and others, helping you better navigate life's changes, including and especially during loss.

Just a reminder that routines are not schedules, more like guideposts or touchstones throughout your day that help ground your time and place, for example a bedtime routine might include washing and moisturizing your skin after drinking some tea. When we do a routine consistently our body anticipates and trusts that it knows what will come next, so in that example, my muscles might begin to soften while the water boils, knowing that a shower and laying in bed will soon come.
Supporting rest, and knowing / expressing your limits can help you feel more secure and at ease which adds to one's sense of belonging.
What/Who supports your rest? What are some of your favorite ways of expressing your limits?

sit with the question for a little bit and use it as a journal prompt, then talk about your thoughts with someone you trust.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This ain't a glitch in the matrix, these should look familiar because they are the same as last week's suggestions, for different benefits though!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember while setting up your intentional care circle that you can greatly benefit from having multiple types of perspectives present- more types of filters of understanding if you will. Including places and natural events can also round out a living person heavy circle. Also be sure you are beheld as you Behold, Beloved. Adjust your circle as needed 🦀 🦀 🦀 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Guided meditation can certainly be a helpful way of expanding your ability to experience things differently. Remember our being often processes things nonverbally, so feel free to explore movement, art, making, and musical elements in your meditation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Things things only work as much as you set aside time to actually do/tend to them (!) So pick some times and PROTECT them with boundaries that make sense for you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Intentionally syncing with the cycles of nature is a great way to feel connected to source, the force that connects and feeds us all. This last year of connecting with moon (and other celestial bodies') cycles has been very grounding and reassuring, especially in the midst of all this man-made chaos.
This full moon I celebrate connections, pathways, and ways through (including via my own two hands and technology networks) and let go of unnecessary dryness, forced timelines, and some unnamed limits on communication. I feel like these might definitely have been influenced by all the time I've been spending thinking about Queen Nzinga pictured in the full moon there and the snippets of what was shared by girltrek in their cosmonaut series (episode 20)
what are you celebrating and/or letting go of?
01/18/2022
while studying the next few upcoming moon cycles a clear set of themes to be aware of emerged having to do with coldness, or different versions of our perception of coldness from people (ourselves included.)
I heard an npr spot recently that talked about new ways scientists have found to freeze food- no water or ice- using pressure (isochoric freezing.) This stood out to me as I experience internal pressure as feeling cold. This inspired me this moon cycle be aware of how pressure, whether internal (our selves, values, beliefs) or especially external ( the values, beliefs, and selves of others), is interpreted as or produces coldness. ~ I invite you to do the same~
since the last new moon we've been listening to and applying wisdom from girl trek black history bootcamp cosmonauts Cicely Tyson ( episode #1) and Queen Nzinga ( episode #20) both Embody the moon in Capricorn and Cancer with so many examples of being strong AND tender, embodied integrity, and in many ways defying pressure.
check out those episodes with us these next 4 days and continue to reflect. We have also updated our New Moon, it's Capricorn Spotify playlist for you to enjoy.

bit.ly/getatherapist Is a great curated well of help when it comes to finding therapists of color. It's well maintained and even has helpful short articles on how to get started if it's your first time. I highly recommend getting familiar with it and using it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Guided meditation is a great way to explore belonging.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Doing so allows our subconscious to explore from perspectives that differ from the one we regularly embody throughout the day. And the more we do this, the more readily and easily those perspectives come, shaping our experiences.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not sure to whom you belong? May I humbly suggest you try on being a child of the Earth Mother... And also what if you actually belong to the essence that connects us all. When we think about belonging from that perspective does it shift what you notice in your body? in your thoughts? in who comes to mind as part of your care circle? or nah??⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Practically speaking, who we belong to - those who are intimately shaping us as we are shaping them- are not often who we'd choose. Those of us with the privilege to choose best remember to keep (intentional place and tend to) diferring age, ability, thoughts, and levels of professional in our circle of care and maintain that sacred circle by protecting the time we schedule to share space (even virtual / asynchronous space 😘)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This year was spent resourcing processes, pathways, and people who align with and can help manifest the vision for Inspired Relief. We are building our teams and processes while staying true to the anti-oppressive, non judgemental, person centered, long awaited, well deserved dictates of our community. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With the funds received last asked we were also able to fund a full round of TIMBo for 4 participants and look forward to jumpstarting the healing for more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Reclaiming the birthright of wellness and making clear paths to it for all is no small endeavor~ in this current climate no less. So far our plans have made clear the following $$ needs:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
~$3k for lawyer retainer⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we are sure to disrupt some industries we'd like to keep her on deck ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
~$20k technology investment⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We're cooking up some very innovative things and this is the quoted outright cost ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
~$15k to pay the 3 black women who are spearheading this effort for their labor, time, and integrous creativity these next 6 months (working at current manageable real life pace) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Consider giving what you can via Cash app, PayPal, or Venmo (easy linktree in bio) - just be sure the label it if you want it to go toward a specific need, otherwise we'll put where it's most needed. Thanks in advance for doing what you do and helping me spread the word/ raise these funds. I'll continue to post updates seasonally so we can see where we're at (though I know yall have been eager to help get this going so I expect to reach out goal much sooner ;))⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Just taking a moment to recognize that so much has happened since we last posted.
Being a black woman mothering and reshaping business as usual for psychotherapy and wellness practices for us often has meant not posting on platforms.
We've been living, loving, guiding, circle keeping, and tending to our latest adventures~ the Just Healing Coalition (JHC), Inspired Relief, and the revamp of the Boston Center for Contemplative Practices (BCCP.)
We are still VERY AWARE of our need to better communicate when we are taking our social media breaks....and our need for an actual assistant for our little one woman wellness boutique. (YES, go ahead and get in touch with me if this sounds like something you or someone you've vetted are interested in.)
