The countdown to Halloween is on! This season is full of fun activities that help toddlers learn and grow. From pumpkin decorating to costume play, these hands-on experiences support creativity, fine motor skills, and social-emotional development, all while keeping the holiday engaging and exciting:
🎃 Pumpkin Decorating or Carving (with supervision): Encourage toddlers to scoop, paint, or draw on pumpkins. These activities help little ones explore new shapes and textures while strengthening hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and creativity.
🍬 Halloween Candy Sorting: Sorting candy by color, size, or shape helps children practice counting, pattern recognition, and categorization skills.
🍂 Fall Sensory Bins: Fill bins with leaves, acorns, or other seasonal materials and let your toddler touch, feel, and play with the items. Sensory play supports exploration, fine motor development, and emotional regulation.
🪄 Costume Play: Dressing up sparks imagination, storytelling, and role-playing. It also encourages social-emotional growth as children act out characters and scenarios, fostering creativity and confidence.
