Why do we keep the nice things in our head? Say them out loud to the person!

As the holiday season ramps up, it can be easy to be caught up in to-do lists and stress. It's all the more reason to take a few moments to verbalize positive thoughts. It can improve your loved one's day — and yours!

Open-ended questions are always a great opportunity to learn new things about your spouse, and it opens the door for learning new areas that we can work on in ourselves.

"Patience does not come easily to Brian or me. Our differences can often be a source of irritation for both of us. I walk fast. He strolls. I’m always early. He likes to arrive just in time. Brian catches on to technology quickly. But when I want a new app, I ask him to download it for me. Just as Brian gets frustrated with my ineptitude to learn a new technology, I disagree with his definition of timeliness.

Through 32 years of marriage, we have learned that frustration, differences and disagreements are some of the best opportunities for patience to grow in marriage. The more our patience has been needed — and exercised — the stronger it’s grown."

Hi! I'm Christi. Let me introduce you to Truly Resilient Counseling, and tell you a little about the story behind the name.

The definition of Resilience is the capacity to recover from difficulties quickly, to bounce back.

That is the story of my life.
Opportunities for resilience have been ample over the years but I’m not complaining, because those difficult seasons have also grown me in so many ways. They were opportunities to learn my own strengths and how to become a better me. I made that all sound super easy, like I'm complete in every single way. Well... not so quick because remember that life is a process.

However, the journey to resilience is not necessarily an easy one. Think of everything a butterfly goes through during metamorphosis, from a tiny egg all the way to a beautiful butterfly, fluttering around outside.

Unfortunately, there are times in life that it feels like it's just too hard to overcome the obstacles on the path BUT there is HOPE.

I am passionate about helping you find resilience in life and your relationships. I want to help you overcome the challenges that keep you from living your best self.

Even in your darkest moments, you can be Truly Resilient.

I am licensed by the state of Georgia as a Marriage and Family Therapist and my office is located virtually so we can meet from your most private, comfy space.

If you are located anywhere in Georgia and are interested in virtual counseling then I would be honored to consult with you to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

Feel free to navigate over to my website to find out more info or go ahead and schedule a FREE 20-minute consult now.
