Our Recruiter, Autumn, sharing her experience from a BAYADA client visit! 🕊️
Hello BAYADA Followers,
My name is Autumn, and I am the Regional Recruiting Manager for Kent and Sussex County. (You can see me in the photo below with DPS Director Allison Brooks, Jaz's Nurse Cathy, and Jaz's loyal support dog, Rangle.)
I recently had the privilege of visiting Jaz’s family as part of my role as a Recruiter with BAYADA and it was such a meaningful experience to see home care from every perspective: nursing, family, and recruitment ❤️
My goal was simple: to truly understand what home care looks and feels like so I can better speak with nurses who are considering this path. Hearing directly from Jaz’s mom, Libby, and seeing the care in action gave me insight that you just can’t get from behind a desk.
This incredible military family began their journey in Alaska before moving to Delaware, where they chose AI DuPont for its exceptional cerebral palsy program. From the very beginning, Libby has been deeply involved in Jaz’s care, even during hospital stays learning every detail so she could confidently bring that care home and help nurses who may be interested in joining her care team in the home setting. This family has been a BAYADA family since 1999! She shared something powerful: “She’s our daughter, and it’s our responsibility to make sure she is taken care of and well loved.”
What stood out to me most was how home care creates an environment for both compassion and growth. Libby welcomes new graduate nurses into their home, giving them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with trachs, ventilators, and a full scope of skilled care. It’s a setting where nurses can truly build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.
From the nursing perspective, it’s also inspiring to see the longevity and dedication of Jaz’s care team: Cathy (20 years with BAYADA, 19 with Jaz), Lori (12 years), Clara (7 years), Megan (3 years), and Gabby (1 year). That kind of commitment speaks volumes about the support, training, and relationships built within home care.
From a family perspective, it’s about trust, partnership, and knowing your child is cared for by people who truly become part of your life.
And from a recruitment perspective, this visit gave me exactly what I was hoping for. Real stories, real impact, and a deeper understanding that I can now share with nurses exploring a career in home care.
Experiences like this remind me that home care is so much more than a job, it’s connection, growth, and purpose. 💫
Don’t hesitate to start a career in home health care with BAYADA! The rewards are far greater than the nervousness of getting started. At BAYADA, we guide you every step of the way and our support doesn’t stop there. You’ll have ongoing clinical support and guidance from our team, 24/7!
