On Wednesday, October 8th, the DMHA had a BIG day. We had our first DMHA-specific community meeting were we learned from Jack O'Connor about Live Free Recovery Services in NH and Emily Goupil from The Granite YMCA about the importance of group norms. We then all participated in an activity to create group norms for the DMHA. Thank you both!

That evening, we celebrated our 4th Annual Putt-Tober: Mini Golf for Mental Health. It was an incredible turnout of supporters, our largest yet! Thank you to all who played and supported us through sponsorships for this years event.. Here are some pictures that highlight the DMHA's October 8th!

Today is World Mental Health Day 2025 . October 10 is globally recognized as World Mental Health Day by the World Federation for Mental Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts to support those affected worldwide.

A reflection about mental health needs…on a community level:
• Education — to help people recognize signs of distress early and know how to seek help.
• Openness and conversation — reducing stigma by talking honestly about struggles.
• Inclusion — ensuring all people feel seen and valued, regardless of background or condition.

THANK YOU for your engagement and support for the DMHA’s mission. You are making a difference for our communities!

I had the pleasure of working with staff from DF Richard for their “safety” day. What a great group of people and a leadership team that supports the physical AND mental health of all employees. Today’s training was A.I.D. - Awareness, Interaction, Direction: a class to help anyone learn how to recognize and respond to a co-worker, friend, family member in emotional distress. We also talked about the importance of being self-aware of our own mental health and its correlation to safety on the job. These guys were great to work with. It was easy to see that they are close group of co-workers and supporting the health and wellbeing of each other is important to them. Thank you DF Richard! Thank you for being part of the mental health solution!
