Here’s the bottom line: When you eat something and feel anything less than perfect, your body’s talking to you. It’s telling you that some type of reaction is occurring and you need to pay attention. Are you feeling tired? Do you have a headache? The investigation of “why” begins with what you put in your mouth. Now that you understand this, I hope it’s clear why what’s on the end of your fork can be connected to any health complaint, and that every protocol you initiate must include making sure your gut is functioning adequately. Every system of your body improves when your gut functions more normally. And when you fix your body, you’ll fix your brain. Your outlook on life improves, and so does your productivity. You’ll have more energy (and sleep better), you’ll be able to respond more quickly to life’s challenges, your memory and attention will come back, and you will live a more vital life.
