Do you or your partner drink coffee? If so, save those grounds!
Reusing coffee grounds is one of the simplest self care "routines" you can do. Simply mix the grounds with a carrier oil of your choice and volia! instant face scrub, mask, or body scrub. We all shower or at a minimum wash our face every day right? All it takes is an extra 30 seconds if your short on time. Have a few extra minutes? Use those grounds as a face mask and let it sit 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing.
Coffee provides amazing benefits to the skin such as reducing inflammation, antioxidant boost for anti-aging, decreasing dark circles, and improving blood flow.
Not to mention the smell is uplifting and increases energy!
What is your favorite way to reuse coffee grounds?

Yoga off the mat... being present
But how does the Northern Lights reflect being present? We'll get to that..
Being present is something we hear all the time. Especially in class.. "be present in the pose", "be present with the breath",  "be present with your emotions". It can be easier to achieve well in class as there's less distractions, but once we leave all hell breaks loss.
Last night I have never felt more present in a moment I'm my life. Even though the lights were out, it could have been easy not to. It was late at night. 18 degrees. Wolves yelping and howling extremely close. They weren't crazy active the entire time so the mind can fill with uneasy thoughts.
Instead, I totally relished in the moment. I allowed myself to be fully present. The chill that graced my face made me feel totally alive. The wolves howls and yelps turned into a song for the dancing lights. The pulsation of the pillars vibrated into my soul. All reflecting off the glass lake which made looking in any direction art.
This my friends is yoga off the mat. Even though this was am incredible experience, we can take ANY moment during the day and make it feel just as magical as this. All from being present.....

"I can do hard things"
What is considered hard for one person, may be different for another. Something hard isn't just physical. It's emotional and mental challenges as well. It is easy to give up, push something to the side, or forget about it when we are challenged. Anytime you find yourself in that situation, just tell yourself "I can do hard things". Eventually, this will become your natural though process and anything that challenges you, will be a breeze.

"I am worth it"
What does this mean to you? For me, this is my go to mantra. It translates into so many aspects of my life.
I am worth the love I deserve. I am worth the love I recieve. I am worth my achievements. I am worth taking the time for myself. I am worth the chocolate chip cookie for no damn reason 😉 The list could go on and on.
It's important to have a "go to" mantra when the times get tough. So many times I have/do tell myself I am not worth it, but all I have to do is take a few breaths, repeat my mantra and I'm back on track 💜

Selfcare Sunday!
Sunday as always been a day of selfcare for me. I typically teach on Sunday's but it is still "my" day. I'm not saying I go hang at the spa all day, but I mindfully take little moments all day long that make me happy.
It's simple. Stepping away for 5 minutes to do some pranayama (breathwork). Taking an extra minute when putting on face lotion to give myself a little face message. Making myself my favorite tea in the afternoon.
There is a misconception that selfcare has to be this drawn out process which isn't the case.
Every Sunday I'll share a quick and easy self care tip that can be done anywhere at any time!
What are some easy things you do for selfcare?

Yoga and waterfalls.... how lucky am I?! 💜
But seriously, it's so easy for us to take for granted for what we have. We get caught up in "if I only had this, if I could only do that" mentality. Let's change that...
Next time a thought like that pops up, switch it. Take a moment to be thankful for WHAT you have and what you CAN do instead.. Take a moment in the evening to write down 5 things your grateful for. These small changes will eventually change how you constantly think.
And that's what I did today.... took a few moments in front of the falls to think of how lucky I am. How lucky I am to experience this life. The things I've seen, places I've traveled, people I've connected with, and the future to come 💜
