April is National Autism Awareness Month.
Did you know that 1 in 36 children in the United States is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder and that more than half of young adults with autism remain unemployed and unenrolled in higher education in the two years after high school. This is a lower rate than that of young adults in other disability categories, including learning disabilities, intellectual disability or speech-language impairment?
Let's remember to embrace neurodiversity in the workplace, at home, and in the community.
If you have or are aware of any child or young adult (birth to 21 years of age) with an autism spectrum disorder that needs care assistance at home, ask us about GAPP (Georgia Pediatrics Program). Call 770-771-7202.
