Yoga with Sarah BB

Yoga with Sarah BB doula - yoga - writing Hello - and welcome! I'm Sarah Bach-Bergs, RYT200, and am the face behind Yoga with Sarah BB.

I have been a yoga instructor in various forms for over 8 years and have guided classes at Blooma (Twin Cities, MN), Heartwork Yoga Studio (Northfield, MN) and independently (both virtually and in-person). I also lead various yoga classes at women’s retreats and outdoor getaways and teach "Yoga on Tap" at Imminent Brewing in Northfield, MN. Aside from my 200-hour training with the House of the Gathering Yoga School (HGYS) in Duluth, MN, I have additional trainings and certifications in prenatal/postnatal yoga**, trauma-conscious yoga (including, but not limited to, epigenetic trauma), yin yoga, and yoga therapy. Overall, I prefer to guide yoga through the lens of self-trust and accessibility with the intent to hold space for somatic exploration and unfolding through the asana practice. I am passionate about making yoga feel safe, sacred and transformational for all. I believe that the body - not just the brain - holds an infinite amount of wisdom and knowledge. With this as a foundation, my classes exemplify the idea that through the practice of yoga we hold the key to unlocking the wisdom that we hold within - if only we are brave enough to simply show up. Holding space for that unique discovery process to unfold for each individual is what I strive for. I am also a DONA-trained Birth & Postpartum Doula and received my trainings through Blooma. I was specifically educated as a postpartum doula by Debra Pascali-Bonarom, founder of Orgasmic Birth and co-chair of the International MotherBaby Childbirth Organization (IMBCO). I have also taken "Breastfeeding for Doulas" training aside from having personal breastfeeding experience with my own children. A lover of the outdoors, wood burning stoves, good books, and traveling, I am here to help you explore your inner landscape and move forward with a sense of grounding and connection. Please reach out if you have questions or wish to simply connect.

**In addition, I am trained through Blooma in Bring Your Own Baby (BYOB) Yoga, modeled after Lisa Bergley's Yoga Bonding sequence, which invites babies and their caregivers to bond through loving touch, sight, sound, and movement.

Environmentalism is deeply intertwined with yoga through the philosophy of interconnectedness and fostering a sense of responsibility toward the Earth as an extension of the Self.

This connection and lived experience of "yoga off the mat" is expressed through ethical principles like ahimsa (non-harming) and aparigraha (non-possessiveness/non-hoarding) to name a few. These guiding factors promote sustainable living, eco-conscious consumption, the protection of nature, and more.

And that is EXACTLY why I'm so jazzed to announce that I've OFFICIALLY become a small, but humble, part of the team! This amazing crew is authentic and loving to the core...and their business reflects as such!

I'm genuinely thrilled to support - not only through my purchases, but also through my work - such an amazing locally-owned, women-owned, small business that aligns so deeply with both my personal and professional values. Plus, the owners are some of my favorite people! ☺️

I can't wait to grow and expand with this awesome business and to see how we can work together to bring more goodness and connection to the community!

The word of the wise.
My heart.
My soul.
My body.

What flows off the tongue.
A spell...into the ether of energy.

Hold it true.
Hold it dear.
Let it be a dream for the universe to embrace.

May it invoke truth and light and energy.

May it BE.
May I BE.

Hello friends. This resonated with me today and I felt compelled to share it. An excerpt from the book "No Cure for Being Human" by Kate Bowler:

🍃

"The truth {of these times} is the truth of all suffering: that it is unjustly distributed. Who bears the brunt?

The homeless and the prisoners.
The elderly and the children.
The sick and the uninsured.
Immigrants and people needing social services.
People of color and LGBTQ people.

The burdens of ordinary evils - discrimination, brutality, predatory lending, illegal evictions, and medical exploitation - roll back on the vulnerable like a heavy stone. All of us struggle against the constraints placed on our bodies, our commitments, our ambitions, and our resources, even as we're saddled with the inflated expectations of invincibility.

This is the strange cruelty of suffering in America, its insistence that everything is still possible.

God, let me see things clearly. I must accept the world as it is, or break against the truth of it: my life is made of paper walls...and so is everyone else's."

May all Beings be happy.
May all Beings be healthy
May all Beings be peaceful.
May all Beings be kind.
