Looking for a stability shoe that keeps things simple and reliable?

One WeeViews tester recently put the Topo Athletic Ultrafly 6 through recovery miles and daily training to see how it performs in real-world conditions.

This moderate stability trainer features Topo’s signature roomy toe box, dependable traction, and light guidance through the gait cycle, making it a strong option for runners who want support without an overly rigid ride. It’s also comfortable enough to double as a walking shoe.

But how does the ZipFoam midsole actually feel on the run? And is it a good option if you typically run in neutral shoes?

WeeViewer Wednesday: Meet Robyn Bayetis

Robyn Bayetis from Forest Hills, NY started running just one year ago at age 48, something she had always wanted to try. What started as a new challenge quickly turned into a powerful personal journey of proving to herself what she’s capable of.

After seven months of training using the Galloway method, Robyn completed her first half marathon last October! It's a milestone that still makes her smile when she reflects on the work and perseverance it took to get there.

Her running journey continues to grow. Robyn completed her first 10K and has another 10K on the calendar this March, followed by her first 15K in April. Later this year she’s planning to tackle another half marathon in October as she keeps building confidence, distance, and speed.

Outside of running, Robyn is a social worker, a mom, and someone who enjoys yoga, walking, and music. Her go-to run setup includes UCAN with caffeine, Voli or LMNT electrolytes, and her running vest, which helps her feel prepared and safe on every run.

Stories like Robyn’s are exactly what the WeeViews community is all about: real runners, pushing their limits and discovering what they’re capable of.

Another world record just fell in the half marathon. 🤯

At the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon, Jacob Kiplimo ran 57:20 to set a new world record for 13.1 miles, taking 10 seconds off the previous mark. That’s roughly 4:22 per mile (2:43/km) from start to finish.

The performance came on the same Lisbon course where Kiplimo held the record in 2021, and this time he did it without pacemakers, pushing the pace late in the race to break away and seal the historic run.

On the women’s side, Tsigie Gebreselama successfully defended her Lisbon title with a 1:04:48 victory, finishing more than two minutes ahead of the field.

Records, redemption arcs, and fast racing all in one morning in Lisbon.

If you had to pick, would you rather chase a faster half marathon PR or build the endurance for longer distances right now?

From 100 miles to 3,000 meters...two wildly different races, two unforgettable performances.

On February 20, Ashley Paulson set a new women’s 100-mile world record at the Jackpot 100, finishing in 12:19:34. To break the mark, she had to average roughly 7:24 per mile for 100 miles, holding steady on a 1.19-mile loop for more than 12 hours.

More recently, Cole Hocker defended his unbeaten streak at USA Indoors, winning the 3,000m in 7:39.25. That was just 0.03 seconds ahead of second place in one of the tightest finishes in meet history.

Whether you’re building durability for long miles or sharpening speed for race day, this is the beauty of our sport: every distance demands something different.

Narrow feet? You’re not imagining it. Some shoes do feel secure in the store… and fall apart by mile three.

For this guide, we skipped the spec sheets and asked narrow-footed runners what actually worked over real training blocks. The result? A few surprises, a couple mainstream misses, and one big takeaway: it’s less about width labels and more about heel security and midfoot lockdown.

From daily trainers to carbon race shoes to technical trail models, we break down what holds up — and what doesn’t — in 2026.

If you’ve ever cranked your laces just to survive a run, this one’s for you.

Lightweight. Plated. $140. Too good to be true?

We had five testers log 200+ miles in the Skechers Aero Razor to find out.

The verdict?
✔️ Ultra-light and energetic
✔️ Feels best at tempo, threshold, and track
✔️ Strong traction for such a minimal build
✔️ Budget-friendly compared to many plated trainers
✖️ Runs narrow in the forefoot
✖️ Not built for max-cushion marathon cruising

This is a speed-first shoe that rewards good mechanics and forward momentum. If you like a firmer, responsive ride and rotate your shoes, it might be a fun addition to your lineup.

Curious if it stacks up against your current speed shoe?

Some races test speed. Others test survival.

This weekend gave us both.

🌲 The Barkley Marathons are underway in Tennessee, where runners attempt roughly 100+ miles of unmarked terrain, steep climbs, and sleep deprivation. With a historic finish rate hovering around 2%, simply reaching the later loops is an achievement. As Laz lights his cigarette and the race begins, the question isn’t who will win—it’s who will endure.

🏜️ At the Black Canyon 100K, history was made in the desert. Hans Troyer stormed to a new course record of 7:20, while Jen Lichter ran an incredible 7:57 to break the women’s record and finish 9th overall. Both performances secured Golden Tickets to Western States and cemented their place among the sport’s rising forces.

🏟️ Meanwhile indoors, Elle St. Pierre reminded everyone what’s possible. Less than a year after giving birth to her second child, she ran 3:59.33 for 1500m, breaking the American indoor record and continuing one of the most inspiring comeback stories in the sport.

And this was just a fraction of the weekend.

Records fell. Comebacks unfolded. Golden Tickets were punched. And somewhere in the woods, Barkley continues to quietly break runners.

What else caught your attention this weekend?

WeeViewer Wednesday: Scott Morman 🏁

Scott’s journey into ultrarunning began as cross-training during his years racing 100-mile mountain bike events. What started as something supplemental eventually became a passion of its own.

In 2020, after completing his first 100-mile run and another 74-mile race shortly after, Scott faced serious injuries and was forced to step away from running for an extended period. Recovery required patience, proper fueling, strength work, and a complete rebuild of his foundation.

His persistence paid off. In 2025, Scott achieved his first sub-24-hour 100-mile finish and completed two 100-mile races in the same year, marking a powerful return to the sport he had grown to love.

Outside of running, Scott is a husband, father, and software engineer who enjoys spending time with his family and their rescue beagles.

Scott’s story reflects something many runners experience: setbacks, rebuilding, and the satisfaction of coming back stronger.
