SJBPH has organized a temporary drive-through COVID-19 testing site for high-risk individuals who meet specific criteria. This will take place on Friday, March 20th, from noon-6 pm, and Saturday, March 21st from 9 am-noon.

The criteria to be tested includes:
*People who meet the CDPHE criteria for COVID-19 symptoms and those who:
-work in healthcare-related jobs or are first responders (law enforcement, EMTs, firefighters)
-are older or who have underlying health issues such as heart and lung illness, or diabetes or women who are pregnant
-have an order from their doctor (it is suggested that people reach out to their provider as soon as possible to get an order)

Individuals who meet the above criteria need to call the Call Center to get a testing time. Call Center: 970.385.8700 after 9am Friday, 3/20/20.

All tests will be allocated to those who meet the criteria listed above. Members of the community who do not meet the above criteria will not be tested at the temporary testing site.

For questions, please call the Call Center at 970.385.8700 after 9 am on Friday, March 20th. The Call Center will not be open until this time.

Hey San Juan Basin Public Health where is our COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Testing? As of 3/16/20 La Plata County has a zero infection rate of COVID-19. Residents: Do not have a false sense of security, there has been limited inpatient hospital and community testing.

Is now the time to have "elective" surgery? If a patient's elective case does not get canceled due to seriousness of current medical condition, patients need to have a discussion with their surgeon and anesthesiologist on the risks of having surgery during this COVID-19 pandemic. The American College of Surgeons has the following recommendations for elective surgeries:
