Not all yoga classes are created equal.

Somewhere along the way, yoga classes got shorter… and savasana got shorter too. In many places the practice has become rushed, focused mostly on the workout, ending just when the deeper part of yoga could begin.

Yoga was never meant to be rushed.

In my 75-minute vinyasa classes we move, sweat, breathe, reflect, and rest. There is space for philosophy, space to connect breath with movement, and space to simply be still. The physical practice is powerful, but traditionally it was meant to prepare us for something deeper.

Yes, the practice is strong. But it is also rooted.

Join me for my 11th retreat at Indigo Nature Retreat, a magical retreat hOMe in the forest June 18-22, 2026!

This summer we gather at the height of the light to honor the turning of the season. The summer solstice is a sacred pause, a moment when the earth is at her fullest expression and we are invited to witness our own. Join us June 18 to 21, 2026 at Indigo Nature Retreat in Old Fort, North Carolina for a soulful return to rhythm, simplicity, and presence.
We will stay tucked into tiny forest cabins surrounded by trees, birdsong, and mountain air. Mornings begin with flowing yoga and meditation led by Jen Fisher as the light filters through the leaves. Afternoons offer space for rest, reflection, or gentle exploration. One day we will hike together through Pisgah National Forest, letting the land be our teacher. Evenings invite us inward with slow, grounding practices and sound healing led by LeeAnn Anderson to help integrate and soften.
Throughout the weekend we will be nourished with beautiful, seasonal meals prepared by Carrie Passey, supporting the body as deeply as the practices support the spirit.
This retreat is an invitation to step out of the noise and back into the living world, to remember what it feels like to wake with the sun, move with breath, and fall asleep under the stars. Come celebrate the solstice, tend to your inner fire, and be held by the forest.

Today marks the longest night of the year — a sacred pause in the rhythm of nature, where darkness is not something to fear, but something to rest within.
The solstice reminds us that even in stillness, the light is already returning… quietly, patiently, in its own time.
I created a simple ritual that includes:
• a grounding meditation
• reflective journal prompts
• a calming playlist
• a simple candle + breath ritual you can do at home
It’s meant to be slow. Cozy. Honest.

Set you intention for the new year for a weekly vinyasa practice with me!
If mornings are your time for practice, I offer a 75 minute non-heated vinyasa class that I have been teaching for over 15 years. Each week a different sequence and playlist (or recycled from years past!).
Although I don't teach at a traditional yoga studio - I have built a community over the years and this class is always full of wonderful connection and is continually growing.
Perhaps you love hot yoga, but it no longer serves the phase of life you are in, or you have never tried a non-heated class. Either way, I invite you to try a class with me.
The room is certainly not cold, and we will CREATE HEAT from the inside out.
