Wow it's been such a long time since I've been active on this page! Hi everyone :)

Lots of change has happened and yet, it feels sooooo sloooowww. I think I might be ready to engage more, like maybe once a month or so at least.

I took a year off from manual work and focused on teaching pilates (my version of it anyway) and it went really well. I needed that long break and it helped me refocus. I am renewing my love for neural mobilization and the more subtle techniques.

I have a new website coming. Nothing fancy, but more reflective of me. I'm really good at technology, but I'm really bad at providing "content" on a regular basis.

I hope ya'll are hanging in there! Stay healthy my friends :)

Our studio will temporarily suspend classes and sessions beginning today at noon. It’s been difficult for all of us at IOBT to make this decision as it has been for everyone in the entire world making decisions to cancel for the sake of all.

I love that IOBT will be able to offer online classes and private instruction! It’s important to keep moving during stressful times. Move your emotions in the way that supports you most. Take this time to re-evaluate what you really need. Breathe, sweat it out, hit it hard, slow down, be gentle with yourself and others, meditate...a lot.

I have cancelled bodywork sessions for the next 2 weeks and I’m working out if I can teach pilates privates or classes online. Stay tuned for updates!

😊 Boost Your Immunity for Self-Care!
It’s one of those times of year again. A time when the sniffles and congestion will nag many of us. It’s no fun being “under the weather” so we checked out Harvard Health Publishing to find what the leading ways are to boost our immune systems naturally.
Turns out that the following general, everyday good-health guidelines are the single best steps you can take toward naturally keeping your immune system strong and healthy. Our bodies, including the immune system, function better when bolstered by healthy-living strategies such as these:
😷 Don't smoke.

😷 Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables.

😷 Exercise regularly.

😷 Maintain a healthy weight.

😷 If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.

😷 Get adequate sleep.

😷 Take steps to avoid infection, such as washing your hands frequently and cooking meats thoroughly.

😷 Try to minimize stress.

9 easy invitations to self awareness

-FELT SENSE. This can be found most easily by just noticing the sensations where your body is in contact with other things. Clothing. Sunshine. Water. Other people.

-OUTSIDE PERCEPTION. “I am in the world, and the world is in me.” HG

-IMAGINATION. I am my dreams. I am every person in the story.

-COGNITIVE CONCEPTS. Being human means having the hardware for more expansive thinking. Those thoughts are something to be aware of!

-MOVEMENT. “Movement and being human mean the same thing.” EC Get on the floor, roll around, check it out!

-EMOTING. Emotions will help with that.

-COREGULATION. What happens to me when I’m with other people?

-RITUAL. Whether it’s planned or habit, there are repeating experiences happening every day. What are your daily, weekly, or even moment to moment rituals?

-CREATIVITY. It’s your own special way, the way you do what you do. Creatively!

Teasing Out Teaser on the Reformer Long Box
THIS SUNDAY - June 2 at 10am with KimLien!

Have you ever wondered how you can successfully do teaser on the mat, but when it comes to doing it on the long box on the reformer it feels 100 times harder? This special focus class can help you transition your wonderful mat teaser skills to the reformer. Participants should be familiar with the reformer and able to do the teaser on the mat. The class will start by preparing your body with some basic exercises and helping you understand how they relate to teasing out the details of the teaser exercise.
