The Transplant Trot is on Saturday April 25, 2026. It includes the following events: Transplant Trot 5K and Transplant Trot 1 mile fun run/ walk.

So awesome to see increased access to living kidney donation in South Carolina. Thank you, MUSC Health!

MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is expanding its kidney transplant program to include living kidney donation, giving patients with end-stage renal disease a new path to lifesaving care closer to home.

Led by physicians including Drs. Prince Anand and Ahmed Daoud, the program allows healthy donors to give one of their kidneys to someone in need, often reducing time on dialysis and improving long-term outcomes.

With the addition of living donor transplants, the program now offers a full complement of kidney transplant services and expands access to advanced care for patients across the region. This is just one more way we're bringing compassionate, expert care close to home.

Congratulations to Dr. Prince Anand from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), a member of our board, who won the 2026 NKF Clinical Excellence Award from the National Kidney Foundation Serving the Carolinas. Samicca Berry, our financial director, was there to help surprise him!

We know many people are attending the Games in June. Still, on June 20th, the South Carolina Transplant Foundation is hosting our 2nd annual National Living Donor Triathlon hosted at the Clemson Triathlon with Set Up Events. This event is held as part of the oldest triathlon in South Carolina, the Triathlon. This takes place on the beautiful campus of Clemson University and the shores of Lake Hartwell. We will have living donor individual and team categories, open to transplant donors and recipients competing (only 1 team member must be a transplant donor/recipient). We encourage all Kidney Donor Athletes, National Kidney Registry Living Donor athletes, and Chris Klug Foundation race team members who are not attending the Transplant Games to join us. Feel free to ask any questions about this event.

The Clemson Triathlon is on Saturday June 20, 2026. It includes the following events: Sprinternational Triathlon, Sprinternational Relay, Aquabike, Aquathlon, Living Donor - Individual, and Living Donor - Relay Team.
