DYSLEXIA
Summer vacation is quickly coming to an end. Is your child ready for the new school year? All schools will be open for in-school learning this coming year. However, did the remote/hybrid learning model affect your child’s ability to improve his/her reading skills?
Did you know that about 13-14% of the school population, nationwide, have a condition known as Dyslexia? Approximately one half of all the students who have dyslexia qualify for special education services.
Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability. People with dyslexia have difficulty reading, spelling, writing, and/or pronouncing words. Dyslexia affects individuals throughout their lives. However, with the proper help, many people with dyslexia can learn to read and write well. Early identification and treatment are the key to helping dyslexic children become more successful readers and writers.
At Brunswick Reading and Speech Center, we CAN HELP!!! We have over 20 years’ experience helping children become better readers and spellers. We use the research-based, multi-sensory, structured, systematic, and explicit reading program called “Orton-Gillingham”. At Brunswick Reading and Speech Center, each child is seen one-on-one, using an individualized lesson plan catered to the needs of each child, so each child can progress at his/her own pace.
We also offer independent Psychological Evaluations, Educational Evaluations, Speech/Language Evaluations, and Speech/Language Therapy.
