AIAM is approved by both the NJ Board of Education and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. AIAM's curriculum includes both spa and clinical massage techniques. Graduates receive a diploma plus a certification in Medical Massage. Our student clinic is designed like a professional spa with individual treatment rooms. Students learn to operate the clinic like a business. We offer opportunities to gain experience at outside events as well as work with professional NFL players, Elite college football, Hockey, Seton Hall basketball, Olympic, and other athletes. Our Elite Athletic Therapy team has been the Seton Hall basketball therapists for the past 3 years and we are the coordinators for Test Football Academy's NFL Combine Prep. Our field is changing to include more assessments and treatments and we pride our curriculum on preparing therapists to meet these needs. Mark Carangelo is the Owner of AIAM. He founded AIAM in 1997 with the mission to raise the standard of the massage therapy profession. His vision is coming to fruition. He has the distinction of being appointed to the first massage therapy licensing board and Vice president and assisted in writing the rules and regulation which govern the massage therapy profession in NJ. He was also inducted into the World Massage Therapy Hall of Fame in May 2017. In his nearly 35 year career, he has worked for the NY JETS Colombia U, Washington Commanders, and UCLA as a manual therapist and still consults for the NFL. He takes this knowledge to the classroom along with many experiences which translate into an amazing learning outcome. He is also the inventor of the Buttercup.
