6 year old Chicago kindergartner Armani Crews chose to feed the homeless instead of having
a party or receiving gifts on her birthday.

Her family spent $300 on a full meal including chicken, fish, spaghetti, and dessert, serving over 125 people in East Garfield Park. With help from their church, they also handed out care packages with essentials like toothpaste, deodorant, and Snacks.

A major blood nonprofit is urging more African American donors to step forward to help treat sickle cell disease, which disproportionately affects about 100,000 U.S. patients.

Because genetic compatibility between Black donors and recipients is crucial for safe transfusions, increasing Black blood donations remains a public health priority.

Experts emphasize that each donation could significantly improve the quality of life and outcomes for those living with sickle cell.
