Five months. That is how long five-year-old Malia Croley spent inside a hospital room waiting for one incredible miracle. With every day, her family and the whole Lexington community held on tight to hope, fighting for her chance to run, play, and dream again. On March 2, at 1:28 p.m., all those wishes came true: Malia received the gift of a new heart in a marathon 14-hour surgery.

From local schools sending handmade cards to friends raising thousands on GoFundMe, Malia’s battle brought a wave of support from everywhere. Her journey was marked with every hug, every prayer, every sleepless night at her bedside. Each moment of worry finally gave way to tears of joy as her loved ones shared, 'She is DONE!! Thank You, God!!' This is more than a story about medicine. It is about family, faith, and the power of kindness from strangers.

Temporary Warming Center Open | Help Needed

Due to extreme cold and an unprecedented need, the Women’s Center of Greater Lansing was approved by the City of Lansing to operate a temporary warming center through Monday.

We need volunteers for four-hour shifts to support staff and guests, and donations to help cover safety requirements, food and beverages, and staff overtime.

Capacity is limited. Please call ahead before sending anyone to ensure we have space available.
