Today we kicked off the start of Internship Two!
Jameson learned how to stock the cooler at The Workshop, Kahlil practiced folding aprons at Linen Services, and Jacob learned to stock food at Sparty’s Café. It was great to get back to working hard and building new skills.

For interns who were not at their job sites today, the focus was on skill-building activities including practicing travel skills, following multi-step directions, and strengthening computer skills. A strong start to the next phase of our internship journey!

Today, interns wrapped up their Living Well lesson with Disability Network of Mid-Michigan by learning how to use a rice cooker. They practiced following a recipe and using the appliance safely while making mac-n-cheese and Rice Krispy treats—both turned out delicious! 😋

We’re looking forward to exploring more recipes together in class this week and continuing to build these important life skills. 🍽️

Today, interns continued their work on New Year goals with Disability Network of Mid-Michigan. They identified actionable steps to achieve their goals and discussed potential roadblocks that could impact their success.

While interns were creating vision boards, our instructor presented at the Special Education Directors meeting, sharing information about our program and celebrating student successes. We’re proud of the hard work happening both in and out of the classroom! 🌟

Students are back in the classroom and already working hard!
We kicked off Monday by reflecting on the past year and discussing personal goals for the year ahead. Today, students participated in Living Well lessons with the Disability Network of Mid-Michigan, focusing on goal setting and creating individualized goals for success. Lastly, we kicked off travel practice getting to our new internship sites.

While everyone else was learning in the classroom, Annika began her first few days of her internship at the Child Development Center . We’re excited to see all the growth and opportunities ahead! 🌟
