Please join us in welcoming Dr. Scott Piette, D.O., to L.O. Eye Care!

Dr. Piette is a glaucoma and cataract specialist who will begin seeing patients in East Lansing and Grand Ledge starting November 17, 2025. With advanced training and a passion for helping patients protect and restore their vision, Dr. Piette offers expertise in glaucoma management, cataract surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

Dr. Piette’s extensive background includes training at some of the nation’s leading eye care institutions. He earned his medical degree from Midwestern University in Arizona, completed his residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Wills Eye Hospital, and pursued a clinical fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has also been deeply involved in ophthalmic research, authoring more than 26 scientific articles and papers.

We’re so excited to have Dr. Piette join our growing team of specialists and look forward to the expertise, compassion, and dedication he’ll bring to our patients and community.

Ever wonder what that machine with all the lenses is?
It’s called a phoropter, one of the most important tools your eye doctor uses during an eye exam.

The phoropter helps measure how your eyes focus light, allowing your doctor to determine your exact prescription for glasses or contact lenses. By switching different lenses and asking, “Which is clearer, one or two?”, your doctor compares how each lens affects your vision to pinpoint the clearest and most comfortable correction.

This process helps identify refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, ensuring your vision is as sharp as possible. Clear, comfortable vision starts with precision, and the phoropter makes it possible!
