Yesterday presence showed up during a simple shopping outing with my mother as we wandered through a local store, laughing, comparing scents, and enjoying the small joy of exploring body sprays, lotions, and candles together. It wasn’t about the sale or what we bought—it was about being side by side, noticing, sharing reactions, and staying with the moment as it unfolded. Presence often lives in these ordinary experiences, when we slow down enough to really be with the people we love.

Yesterday, presence showed up a little differently—in the overwhelm I felt as work demands picked up after a long Christmas break. Instead of pushing through or ignoring it, I paused and took a few intentional breaths. Stepping back helped me notice what my body needed before deciding what to do next. Presence doesn’t remove overwhelm; it helps us respond to it with awareness.
