👁️ Real emergency patients. Real vision-threatening conditions. Real emergency care. 🐾
These are actual ocular emergency cases received and treated at Pet ER 24/7. Eye emergencies can become extremely painful very quickly, and some may lead to permanent vision loss if treatment is delayed.
Our emergency veterinary team is equipped to rapidly evaluate and stabilize pets with advanced diagnostics, including ocular ultrasound and contrast CT imaging when needed. 🩺
Some of the eye emergencies we commonly treat include:
🔹 Entropion
A painful condition where the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes and skin to rub against the eye surface.
🔹 Corneal Ulcers
Open wounds on the surface of the eye that can worsen rapidly or even rupture without prompt treatment.
🔹 Uveitis
Inflammation inside the eye that may be associated with trauma, infection, glaucoma, or systemic disease and can severely affect vision.
🔹 Traumatic Proptosis
A severe emergency where the eye is displaced or protrudes forward from the socket, often after trauma. These cases require immediate emergency stabilization and surgery to help preserve comfort and potential vision.
Signs of an eye emergency may include:
⚠️ Squinting
⚠️ Redness or swelling
⚠️ Cloudiness
⚠️ Sudden vision changes
⚠️ Pawing at the eye
⚠️ Bulging eye appearance
⚠️ Excessive tearing or discharge
At Pet ER 24/7, we act quickly to help protect comfort, vision, and overall eye health when these emergencies arrive through our doors. 💙
