🩸 Saving Lives One Transfusion at a Time — Pet ER 🐾
At Pet ER, we are equipped with a fully stocked blood bank for both dogs and cats, ready the moment your pet needs it most.
When seconds matter, blood saves lives; and we don’t wait.
🚨 When do pets need a blood transfusion?
We use blood transfusions in critical situations such as:
• Severe blood loss from trauma (hit by car, attacks, accidents)
• Internal bleeding (tumor rupture, splenic masses, abdominal hemorrhage)
• Blood disorders where the body destroys or can’t produce red blood cells (anemia, IMHA)
• Surgical support before, during, or after emergency surgery
In simple terms:
👉 If your pet doesn’t have enough healthy blood to carry oxygen; we replace it.
🧪 More than just blood
In addition to whole blood, we also use specialized blood products:
• Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP)
Used when pets can’t clot properly or are critically ill
Common cases:
– Liver failure
– Coagulopathies (bleeding disorders)
– Severe infections (sepsis)
– Toxin exposure affecting clotting
• Canine Immunoglobulin (IVIG)
Used in immune-mediated diseases
👉 Helps “reset” the immune system when it’s attacking the body
⚙️ What goes into a transfusion?
This is not just hanging a bag of blood; it’s intensive, hands-on critical care:
• Continuous monitoring by trained ER doctors and nurses
• Careful calculation of dose and rate
• Strict sterile technique
• Dedicated equipment and blood administration systems
• Close watch for transfusion reactions (fever, vomiting, allergic response, etc.)
Every patient is monitored closely; minute by minute, because safety matters just as much as speed.
⚡ Fast action. Real impact.
When a critical patient arrives at Pet ER:
➡️ Blood and plasma are available immediately
