Patients presenting with cardiac events, ranging from chest pain to a heart attack, are likely eligible to join our Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) program. With a provider's referral or by taking your own initiative, you can learn more about and join this 12-week program to strengthen your heart. With a focus on education, you'll meet with our registered dietitian, exercise physiologist and social worker.

She was completely aware of my needs and took her time explaining to me what I needed to do. She explained to me that because of the severity of my injury that, it would be some time before I was even close to normal. Our Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR) program prioritizes the education of patients post-cardiac event or procedure. Our social worker, Mariacristina Mussumeci, shared, "The Intensive Cardiac Rehab program offers services that require caring for the whole person in order to heal, not just the heart. As the social worker at North Suffolk Cardiology, I have the privilege of supporting patients and families through the emotional challenges they face during recovery."
