Posted • When Justin Hill tried to come up with a logo for his honey, he remembered this old tractor with a tree growing through the middle of it that’s on his family farm in Eastaboga. The tractor is still parked right where his great-grandfather, Elvin Hill, left it nearly 50 years ago when he stopped for lunch one day but died of a massive heart attack before returning to work. “Everybody’s got a honeybee for a logo,” Justin told me. “I was trying to think of something that would represent the family farm, and I looked up and saw this.” Justin’s wildflower honey is a favorite of chefs around Alabama, including Frank Stitt, who features it in the new Eastaboga Burnt Honey Cake that pastry chef Mark Christie developed at .
