I was trained as a car seat tech in the past, my certification has lapsed, I still watch for recalls...

Grayco has a recall allert for their turn model car seats. This design was not an option when I was a tech. This is why having a current certification is important. Models and options and features change constantly. Many parents may have a similar model.

Graco has issued a voluntary recall for select SnugRide Turn & Slide models made Jan–Mar 2026 due to a structural issue found in post‑production testing.

This does NOT affect the EasyTurn, Turn2Me, and all other SnugRide models.

So Story time...

One of the Health Science College courses that I needed to take to sit for the Exam for International Board of Lactation Consultants, was Anatomy & Physiology. At this time (about 18 yrs ago) I started watching Grey's Anatomy, hearing the medical terminolgy in context was helpful.

I have thought of this scene (as a Community IBCLC) a lot lately, not toward a love interest, moreover, to potential parent clients and the community we live in.

Being the pick me girl (for the often last one chosen for teams as a child), has been a difficult thing for me to rise myself up to saying...

Pick Me, Choose Me, Love Me...

I have loved working with each and every parent that has "picked me" and my business over the last 10 years as an IBCLC, and nearly 18 years as a accredited peer councelor. Helping them into "Bliss Mode" is a joy.

I have also had to do this "speaking up" in advocacy as a professional around community IBCLC's being included in reimbursements so parents have access and no cost for the service. It has been an uphill climb, far more than it should be since the Affordable Care Act was passed and lactation consulting was specifically noted.

In this time, I need to speak up, and be more self business promoting ... ironically, I too am a widow like the charactor Merideth, and the "don't do that" advice, mentality also rings true, and standing on my own merit is empowering...

I have posted a community parent questionnaire on my website. Local new parents in the last 5 years or so and parents that plan to begin parenting in the next 5 years. Your thoughts and experiences are helpful and greatly appreciated.

I had this come up in my timeline posts, 2 months after my husband had passed from early onset pancreatic cancer, 6 years ago.

I have learned to notice when I am tired,
Learned to rest and take a moment...
And also
Learned how to move forward and not quit.

In the most difficult times, Successfully Nurtured lactation and parenting may be simply taking a moment to rest.

So we have been "frozen" here on Delmarva to varying degrees for the last few weeks. I hope everyone is doing well with their newborns, infants and toddlers. (Also schoolagers)

Greatful for my Jeep & 4 wheel drive to get where we need to go.

So my name wasn't picked last weekend for the drawing for a Bunkie in the US...

I am still dreaming of having an extra space for meaningful connections...

I am hoping teaching lactation classes in 2026 will help to move towards having an extra meeting space.

Hello Awesome Parents,

I always hope that no news is good news and everyone is in bliss mode feeding their littleones.

Instead of sitting around twiddling my thumbs, I have been knitting, which is similar and creates something while waiting.

We (literally) chizzled out the 4WD Jeep to be able to travel if needed. This storm on Delmarva has been so icy!!! Safe Travels if you need to go out.

I am greatful for our emergency and essential workers, thank you for your service. Be safe.
