12 Green Petals community is a place for me to share my practice and my journey. Bringing together yoga, Reiki, laughter, art, meditation, dance, compassion, joy, aromatherapy, nursing, creativity, reading, understanding, nutrition, education, and all matters of the heart and loving to inspire an open bridge. Currently I continue to share yoga practice with classes at Riegel Ridge Community Center in Milford, NJ, where I have been teaching since 2016. Additionally I offer pop-up classes and private sessions as scheduling allows. My yoga training includes 250+ hour YTT program completed with Easton Yoga in 2013, which incorporates postures and vinyasa flow, breath work, meditation, restorative practices, and yoga philosophies including sutras and the 8 limbs. I completed the Anasura Prenatal Yoga 40 hr training in 2012. I completed the chakra workshop series with Deva Vidya in 2011. In addition to my 27 years working as a Registered Nurse, I also teach Basic Life Support (CPR & HeartSaver instruction) through the American Heart Association. I’ve been a certified aromatherapist since 2013 when I completed the Institute of Integrative Aromatherapy program for medical professionals. IIA is one of only 2 national programs for aromatherapy that is certified by both the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and the American Holistic Nurses Association an accrediting body of the ANA. In 2016/17 I had the privilege of being the co-investigator of the first nursing research study conducted at St Luke’s University Health Network, evaluating improved outcomes of hospice patients using aromatherapy as a part of symptom management and integrative plan of care. This project received state recognition and won the first place award for the Pennsylvania Hospice & Palliative Care Network research presentation. I studied Clinical Acupressure in 2017 with the Soul Lightening International program. Working in hospice for over 15 years of my nursing career, I obtained my Hospice and Palliative Nurse certification in 2012 and was a founding member of the complementary therapies program which was able to expand the care and services to patients for over 5 years providing multi dimensional treatments including Golden Rooms, meditation, music, aromatherapy, massage, Reiki, hand massage, art therapy, pet therapy, memory books, handprint keepsakes, and many other initiatives for end of life wellness. Most recently I have been pursuing wellness and self care through reading about trauma informed healing modalities and expanding my spiritual practices. Hoping to continuously integrate all my practices, experiences, and ongoing learning into a path to healing the I can both benefit from and share with others.
