BreezyBilling BreezyNotes EHR was born on the belief that electronic health records should be easy. We are focused uniquely on a simple EHR application for Therapists.

BreezyNotes is a simple EHR system that grew out of a conversation between founder Jim Jonas, LICSW, LMFT and Director of The Jonas Center and his son, Paul, a communications professional and web developer, in 2013. He asked, “Why isn’t there a simple EHR that makes seeing clients easy?”

Jim, who also has a background in behavioral health administration, and Paul started looking for such a system. Across many subsequent conversations with therapists and psychologists at conferences and events around the state of Minnesota, it became clear that there no simple EHR System that met the needs of solo- and small-group mental health practices. We decided to build our own. EHRs for Those Who Want it Simple
“Keep it simple” has been the BreezyNotes mantra since the project began. Over and over the therapists we spoke with didn’t give a hoot about EHR technology. The less they had to think about it, the better. Instead, they wanted three simple things:

1. To see clients
2. To be secure
3. To be HIPAA compliant

We developed BreezyNotes for them. Three Simple Steps:
Rather than start from scratch, it made more sense to simplify an existing tool that had already proven itself secure, reliable and compliant. We found such a system and worked closely with developers to make it as simple as possible. Then, using Jim’s extensive background in mental health as a therapist and administrator, we custom-tailored it to meet the needs of most individual therapists and small-group practices. We distilled the entire process into a three simple steps:

1. Confirm your client session
2. Write a progress note
3. Bill

Secure and Compliant:
BreezyNotes EHR is fully HIPAA compliant, and it is capable of helping you achieve Meaningful Use Stage II. Your application is hosted on HIPAA compliant, SSAE16 audited servers and it is fully backed up along with all of your client data. Coming Soon:
Development of BreezyNotes EHR is in its final stages. We are currently recruiting therapists to help us “polish off” our product in return for zero setup fees and a significant monthly rate reduction. If you’d like to learn more about participating in our testing program, click here.

The task: donate supplies to an animal shelter.

What actually happened: something better.

I was in Minneapolis as part of a 10 acts of kindness challenge and stopped at Urban Tales. Instead of just dropping off supplies, I learned what they're doing — taking donations and using them to buy pet food and supplies wholesale, then distributing to pets and families affected by what's been happening with ICE enforcement in our city.

It's a smarter model. Your dollar goes further. The impact reaches people who are already under enormous stress — and their animals, who didn't ask to be caught in any of this.

Sometimes the best version of a good deed is the one you didn't plan for.

If you're in Minneapolis and looking for a way to help right now, Urban Tales is worth knowing about.

A free coffee won't solve anyone's problems—but it might be the bright spot in someone's tough morning.

Today Paul paid it forward at a local coffee shop, just because.

Part of our Breezy 10 acts of kindness for 10 years in business.

Want to join us? Pay it forward somewhere this week and share your story in the comments.

Act of Kindness #️⃣6 & 7!

This week, Paul focused on small, everyday actions. He left 3 kind notes on strangers’ windshields and made a point to hold the door open for people throughout the day. What started as a simple plan turned into helping more than 15 people.

No big gesture. Just being intentional and paying attention to the people around you.

Small actions still count.
