I'm Laura Erdman-Luntz and I'm a yogipreneur with over 30 years experience in the yoga industry as an author, coach and teacher/teacher trainer. I firmly believe the world will be a better place when Yoga Teachers make more money. To that end, I created this page to offer ideas for yoga teachers to maximize their earning potential by creating streams of passive/residual income all while adding more value to the experiences of their students. I am not here to "make a quick buck" off of the practice of yoga but rather show existing yoga teachers ways to make more more without the need to add more classes to their calendar.

🌻 Calling all my Yoga Teacher friends 🌻

I just created a FREE checklist of ideas for making more money right now during this crazy time.

I currently have THIRTEEN revenue sources - yep, 13. (Of varying levels - from a few dollars a year to a few thousands a month.)

Only 3 were effected by our current global crisis AND I added a stream to meet a need AND one of my streams doubled in income due to the need for the products.

Diversification is ALWAYS the key for anyone, but especially for those of us who exchange time for money. (ESPECIALLY now!)

NAME: Uttanasana | Standing Forward Fold

PURPOSE:
Deepens your sense of presence and gratitude.

THOUGHTS:
Soooo, I have a story about this pose. I struggled with this pose for about 25 years. Like would shake and sweat and be consumed by fear. I could invert, drop back into backbends from standing and do all the things that usually frighten other people.

Going into a forward fold was my kryptonite.

About 20 years ago, I was studying with one of my teachers. We were in this pose and I was doing my usual freak out. As she walked by, I heard her mumble, “Wow! She will be amazing when she finally uses her legs in this pose.”

It took me years to get what she meant.

Standing forward folds call us to feel we deserve what we have.

Stick with me.

All standing poses help you stand on your own two feet, to understand your place in the world and to build self-esteem.

When you add a forward fold to it, you are adding gratitude. Specifically you are adding gratitude to a feeling of “I deserve this”.

Here’s the thing with gratitude. It sometimes comes from a low self-esteem place. A feeling of “I am so grateful I have [insert whatever] & I’m not sure how I deserve it.”

But what we want is “I’m good enough for this. I deserve it AND I am so grateful.”

And that, in a nutshell, was my issue. As I have grown in my own skin and become more comfortable with my power, I feel better and better in this pose.

OIL RECOMMENDATIONS:
🌿 Gratitude + Valor: My very favorite oil combo for this pose. If you need to build a little, “I deserve this, dammit!”, this is your blend!�
🌿 Present Time: If you simply need to deepen your quiet and sense of presence, this oil blend is perfect.�
🌿 Tranquility: Another great one for stopping the crazies and letting yourself relax.�

SWIPE for photos and recipes.

Grounding.

We use that word a lot in yoga, but what does it mean? And how can we use poses and oils to help?

You know the feeling you get when you can really exhale? You are centered and clear?

That is being grounded.

What’s interesting about grounding is it is mostly energetic, not physical, so yoga and oils are an incredibly powerful way to access the feeling.

A great place to start is a foot massage. It helps us bring us into our feet, literally grounding us. Rub your feet with one of the oils below, using the oils neat (without carrier) before your practice. (If you use a carrier before practice, you will slip on your mat.)

YOGA: Grounding yoga poses are either standing poses, getting you into your feet, or laying down poses, to get you closer to the earth.

My faves for grounding: (SWIPE for photos)
🙏🏻 Tadasana (Mountain)�
🙏🏻 Virabhadrasana II (Warrior 2)�
🙏🏻 Vrksana (Tree)�
🙏🏻 Supta Padangusthasana (Hand To Big Toe Pose -- really feeling your back on the floor)�

OILS:
🌿 Grounding (Ummm...of course!)�
🌿 Valor�
🌿 Sacred Mountain�

IDEAS::
🧡 Foot Massage Oil: In an ounce dropper bottle, add 10 drops of any of the oils above (or mix and match). Fill with carrier oil (any liquid vegetable oil such as fractionated coconut oil, jojoba, avocado.)�

🧡 Diffuse any of the oils for your practice. Start the diffuser 20 min before you begin your practice.�

🧡 Add 1-2 drops of any of the oils into your left palm. Rub your palms together and take three deep breaths. Feel the oil going into your brain and body. Really focus on your exhale.

NAME: Urdhva Mukha Svanasana | Upward Facing Dog Pose

PURPOSE:
A great backbend for opening the heart and strengthening the wrists and arms.

THOUGHTS:
With the advent of Vinyasa (yes, I began yoga “way back when” in a town that only had Iyengar -- DC -- and Bikram was still in LA), this pose has become as ubiquitous as down dog.

It is a great pose and helps build strength in the arms -- a good thing!

As a backbend, it also builds courage and confidence.

What I feel in this pose and what makes it unique as a backbend is the arm strength necessary. You need to build your arm strength to press into it and the more you can extend through the arms, the more open the heart becomes.

That work builds both self-esteem AND it also improves the opening of the heart center. Oh, yes, all good!

OIL RECOMMENDATIONS:
🌿 I always pair backbends with Valor. Such a powerful blend for building confidence.�
🌿 I like Rose oil for this pose - it is a Heart Chakra oil.�
🌿 I also like Grounding in this pose. I love the feeling of being really grounded in my hands as I push off and open my heart.�

IDEAS:
🙏🏻 When you need courage in your life, rub Valor on your feet first thing in the morning and right before bed.�
🙏🏻 Rub Grounding on your hands, deeply breathe it in and then push up into the pose.�
🙏🏻 Rub a drop of Rose on your heart. Your welcome!�

NAME: Stress Away*

PURPOSE:
Ummmm...do I need to say anything here? :-)

THOUGHTS:
As a recovering stress-a-holic (actually, not kidding here - long story), this oil has been my favorite since my first kit.

In fact, I still have the original bottle I received in my first kit -- it’s like my security blanket. (Yep,that’s it in the photo. Can you feel the love? :-))

Since so many people struggle with stress, this oil blend is crucial and I highly recommend using it regularly as in carry it in your pocket.

YOGA POSE PAIRING:
This oil is the perfect oil for a relaxation practice, restorative, yin, forward folds. Think of it as an exhale in your day.

RECIPES:
* Practice Spray: I love to use this oil before I begin my practice. Even if I am planning a more vigorous practice, I always want to release the day before I step onto my mat. I like to bring a fresh energy to my practice. Add 5 drops per ounce of water to a glass spray bottle. Take a deep breath and as you release the breath, spray all over your body. Feel the stress of the day fall away, then step on your mat.�

* If you really need a deep release, start diffusing this oil 20 min before you start your practice to shift the energy in your practice space before you begin. I start my practice time by starting the diffuser. Then I change and get my props out. By the time I am ready to start, the oil has permeated my space and uplifted the vibration.�

* Sniff or apply the oil throughout the day to help you release tension and stress.�

NAME: Virabhadrasana I | Warrior I

PURPOSE:
This pose, like the entire Warrior series, will help you get strength and courage to face your ego. In other words, to cultivate the ability to say NO to habits, thoughts & beliefs that no longer serve you and YES to those that scare you...but you know you need to do it.

THOUGHTS:
There is no other pose in yoga that I have had a more contentious relationship with. I’ve gone from deep love to deep frustration.

When I connect it to giving my strength over my ego, I get it.

When I am fighting my ego, not wanting to give up something it is time to move beyond or to step into a new challenge it is time to take on, this pose is my adversary. I avoid it at all costs.

My relationship with this pose helps me understand where I am in life.

OIL RECOMMENDATIONS:
🌿Highest Potential: Because whatever you need to work beyond your ego to do, it is connected to your highest self.
🌿Believe: Because...well, ya gotta!
🌿Valor: Valor is a powerful blend that builds courage to take that next step.�

🙏🏻Diffuse Highest Potential for your practice.�
